Your brother is a transexual. Right now he probably needs your acceptance and love. Most likely he has felt that he was always a woman, that would explain why he would act like a "tough guy". Because he was struggling with the fact that he really felt that he was a woman, so in order to mask those feelings he acted as men are expected to act by society, tough. There is nothing to be ashamed of, he is still the same person you love, just that now he is who he felt he always was, which is a woman. It's normal to feel angry at her, but i hope you do your best to get over it, right now, like i said before, she needs acceptance for being who she feels she really is. Just try to think of your brother as a PERSON that you love, try to ignore the gender. If you need any more advice you can email me at dogluver8906@yahoo.com

it's sad that she didn't talk to the family, so you could prepare yourselves for such a big change.
Think of things from her side - most people in her position really feel like they are trapped in the wrong body. I am sure she made the decision to have surgery after a lot of thought, counseling and soul searching.
It likely will be that over time she will continue to take hormones and have surgeries to look more like a woman.
What she needs is your love and support right now...

tough one. tell him how you feel that way you can get more off your chest than he has on his. then ask him what brought on the change just to see where he's coming from, I know you've gotta be curious about that. then tell him this will be pretty hard to accept for a while so tell him he might want to tone it down in front of you at least for a little while. if you show you're understanding (though you may never agree) he may reciprocate the respect you want out of the situation.

I am sorry this all fell on you. But try to understand what is going on with him/her? It is still family. And to turn your back on him/her right now would cause more strain with the situation. I know it may make you uncomfortable and a bit weird. Think, how would you want your family to treat you, if you were in there shoes??? Best wishes.

What is your question? If your not sure how you feel about this just give it a bit more time, it's obviously come as a great shock.
