You could always swear a warrant out on her for Attempted assault, and let the Judge decide. But in court you're going to have to prove that she made a false report. Talk to your local magistrate and see what they have to say. Good luck.

In some states BOTH parties in a DV (Domestic Violence) dispute get arrested.
You will need to prove she hit you.
But since you weren't there when the police responded that may make it look bad on you - because they'll assume you running is admitting guilt.
I would bring an attorney with when you go to the station & file your own report.
Or, you can always go it alone if you are guilty and get booked on DV charges...
The thing with DV - you don't even HAVE to hit her or her hit you.
If there is ANY type of violent behavior they can arrest.
Usually they go for something concrete like bruises or lacerations on the victim to prove who hit who.
Just to be on the safe side....consult an attorney.
Good Luck

If you can get another family member to go down with you and verify
that what you say about her is true, it will help you. Don't go alone, because they may decide to book you anyway and you want a witness. If you are sober and not too emotional and tell strictly the facts with no embellishment or added grudges, the cops will probably see you are telling the truth and not prosecute. There is a right to self-defense, but cops generally side with parents over kids until you are 18. If you can talk to an impartial adult, like a school counselor or chuch leader it could help you to see what triggers her craziness so you could minimize or avoid these kinds of fights with your mom.

I wouldn't stay in the house of an evil woman that tried to hit me with a large pan one minute. What did you do to cause that kind of anger or does she have a mental problem? If she's trying to ruin your life, she's off to a good start. Move to a shelter if need be but get out.

Same kind of thing happened to me....
My "Mom" is a poly-toxicomane...
In fact she just scrached herself, voluntarily, and told police I done that....
But she's so non-credible, Judge don't have trusted her...
And she done so much more....But I still talk to her....Distantelly..
2 possible solution :
#1 ; You talk with her and try to make her admit,
#2 : You have to prove that you are a good person, and you are the victim, and that her statements....are manipulation....
Usually, you will see quickly if it's 1 or 2 ....
And if it's 2 , it's usually easy to prove, because this type of person, don't do it just once, but all the time...
I so hope it help.....I really know how you feel now...
I give you my links, because, if she have any mental illness or if she already take medications, you should at least see, what some people thinks its caused by...

Why were you and your mother fighting? What would make her want to tell such a lie to the police? Is she afraid of you or mad at you about something? Why would she want to ruin your life? I asked myself these questions. Maybe the answer to these questions will shed some light on the subject. If you are innocent call a lawyer first and then you need to consider living elsewhere.

File your own report. She has no physical proof you struck her. It's a case of he said/she said. . . You have truth on your side.
Then get the heck away from the woman, and do not contact her. If you are a minor, call child services yourself and get out. Obviously, you are old enough to have the police "believe" that you can assault your mother.

It's EASY! Go to, or phone your mom...talk to her with a VERY kind tone of voice. THEN - go talk to her in person. Borrow, or buy a mini-recorder. Ask her KINDLY - "mom...why would you file a false report - you know i didn't hit you. Keep the hidden tape rolling. Speak to her SO sweet - let her admit she lied. Then march right down to the cop-shop - ask to speak to the "man-in-charge" and hit PLAY!!!

You were just sitting there minding your own business and mom came at you with a large pan? hmmm....Why do I get the distinct impression we aren't hearing the whole story. Not that mom was right mind you, but I suspect either were you.

Say something to the police. If you end up taking a polygraph sometime it may show your innocence. I don't believe the police can do much about domestic disputes though.
