Here it is- it has worked for my 2 kids, and others after I tell them........

1. get m and m's handy
2. get a small potty chair
3. get a couple books about potty
4. you need to be home for about 4-5 days straight
5. now you can start. let them run around bare-but
6. Set the timer for 1/2 hour. Tell him/her to sit on the potty for 5 min. (read them a book in the mean time if it's to long for them.) If they go, give lots and lots of praise!!! I mean go crazy!! Give them about 3 m and m's.
7. Set the timer for 1/2 hour
8. Avoid asking the question "you got to go potty?'
9. Timer goes off- ok! What does that mean junior? Time to go potty again he or she would say, or you say it if they don't
10. repeat process all day long. If they go # 2 in the potty, reward with a handful of m and m's. They are very colorful and kids love them!!

11. Praise praise praise. I do spank my kids for behavior problems such as lying, disobedience, and bad attitudes, but never for having an accident. If there is an accident, clean it up queitly, and don't say much at all. Remind them it's ok, but try to make it in the potty next time, or in your own words.

Good luck!!! Hope this helps you. My girl was potty-trained in two days with the method. Took my 2 1/2 year old son a week. Leave pull-ups on them at night just in case.
p.s. if this doen't work at all, try again in a few months.

I started when my daughter started walking pretty good. It was about 12 or 13 months. When I would see her straining I would run her to the bathroom and take her diaper off and sit her on the pot. If she went pee i would make a huge deal about it...you went potty in the pot yeah clapping hands HUGE deal...if she went poop too again HUGE deal...she was 16 months old the first time that she told us she had to potty and she did and her diaper was dry. After that we moved to pull-ups...she has been completely potty trained by the time that she was two (we are working on the over night stuff, but that is harder) She just turned three. I'll do the same thing with my one year old, as soon as she starts walking. That is my suggestion it worked well for us. If your child is older then I suggest a potty book and maybe a doll with a potty chair...they have them at toys r us...

Charmin has a toilet training thing, I'm not sure. They even have a certificate for those who have complete potty training basics 101. Type in "Potty Training" and you will get lots of sites that offer help. Good Luck !

Dr. Phil has the best method.

I do not have any kids, but my friend has a 2 1/2 year old little boy who would not go to the potty. I kept him for 4 days and tried Dr. Phils method with him and he started to use the potty. While he stayed with me, I just took him every half hour or hour and he'd go pee, he wouldn't poo. After he went home, his mother kept it up and eventually after a few days, he started telling her he had to go! After 2-3 weeks he was completely potty trained, number one and number 2! It was a miracle! Just keep it up. Don't scold. Don't give up. NO DIAPERS. BIG KID underwear only! NO PULL UPS. That will make them revert back to going in their pants. There will be accidents, but that is the nature of the game. After a few days, accidents will happen far fewer. Just remember to take them every hour even if they say they don't have to go. Make them sit on the potty for more than a few seconds and they may go for you.

Good luck.

What helped one of my sons the MOST wasn't by me. It was his babysitter. She decided when potty time was (frequently of course) -- all the kids got in a line and waited for each other with the door open. Since little boys sit, no big deal -- they aren't seeing that part. All they saw was their peers going on the potty and that got almost every single one of them trained. They competed and were praised. Not a bad concept when you think about it. I gave her a lot of credit for that one.

Give one treat for successful peeing on the potty and two for pooping. It has worked for all my kids.

girls are harder than boys. With boys you put fruit loops in the toliet and you name each color a point value, so they actually aim. Once they get a certian number of points they get some sort of treat. ex. 40 points.= you take them out for ice cream. I have 5 older brothers and when i was little i was so jealous of the fruit loops!
