It's probably like you said at first: looks are only skin deep, and once you get to know them, the illusion fades somewhat. There's a good life lesson in that, too. When you eventually fall in love with someone it's going to be the same way. She's going to be beautiful, and everything about her is going to make your heart sing. But if you don't do anything else to sustain and deepen that love beyond this point, (if you just try to let superficial things like looks carry your love for her) this too will fade. If , however, you keep communicating with your mate and continue lovingly working through every issue that arises, you'll strengthen your friendship, and she'll be increasingly more beautiful to you everytime you see her...as you will be to her. You stumbled onto one of the largest lessons this world has to offer; welcome to Life 101. Study hard; it's worth it.

I believe it's because you do not love her. If you pick out a girl based on her looks, your relationship is only skin-deep. It's shallow, loveless, and will end as soon as you get used to how she looks.
BUT if you're in love, you'll find someone who just generally makes you happy. You'll hang out, then date, then realize that you dont want to live a day of your life without this person. Then, someday, you'll look at her and say to yourself "Wow, she's beautiful!"
You won't love her because she's beautiful, and she'll be beautiful because you love her.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that when you date a person based on looks, not on substance, that you will eventually get bored....ergo, the looks fade.

Same reason why when a girl dates a nice guy he eventually stops being nice and turns out to be an arsehole.

Hm, I dunno. I never knew that b4. I wonder if all my ex bfs felt that way! Maybe you get used to her. For me, when I ever I fell in love with someone, they got better looking. So, I think that if you found someone you truly cared for, you would think she was the most beautiful person in the world.

This one is your problem, kiddo. Not hers...
Why does she have to impress you? Did you date her because you like who she is or what she looks like?
