We went to the shore where there were all these sea lions in the bay on barges set out for them to rest on... at Avila Beach. I had never seen them in the wild. He walked me down the pier and below it (there is a second tier at the end of the pier) to see the starfish all stuck on it everywhere. They were so bright.

Then I was taken to Sycamore Hot Spring where they have private wooden tubs right out on the hill side under the stars. We had some wine and towels and that's all we needed.

It wasn't a date but I thought this was one of the most thoughtful things anyone ever did for me, plus romantic in its way. It was Christmas time and I told my boyfriend (at the time) that I wasn't going to have a tree that year. I came home from work late the next evening and it was dark in the house. All I could see was this big huge dark shadow type thing in the corner of my living room and never thought about a Christmas tree. I got scared because it looked huge and dark and scary. When I finally was able to find and turn on the light there was this huge evergreen Christmas tree. I hadn't had a real tree since I was a kid. It was huge! Plus it was really fun decorating it with him. Thank God I had enough ornaments.

heh...i showed up on her front doorstep with a single red rose tucked in my back pocket. i kissed her softly on the cheek hello and acted like nothing was different. when i got in the house, i dropped to one knee and flipped the rose out of my pocket and offered it to her, very chivalrous, and then kissed her hand as i rose. afterwards i put her in my car and drove her to the beach, where already arranged was a private picnic on the sand, just in time to watch the sunset. we watched as the last golden hues vanished from the skies, kissing tenderly just as the sun disappeared...definitely one of the best dates i've ever had.
