not much basis in reality for religion.

The Necronomicon is a work of fiction, written by H.P. Lovecraft, a fantasy writer. Maybe a few of them have some basis in real Pagan rituals but not likely, and if they do there's been a lot of poof and glammar and dramatic flare thrown in to make them more interesting, mysterious, and "dark".

Funny you should ask - I am just now reading an article about authorship of the Necronomicon. I would say that no the rituals are nothing more than fiction - but the occult of pop culture seems so cool.

Here is the article address:

I got this from one of my favorite websites and radio shows:

The Necronomicon is entirely a work of fiction. OK? Got it?

P.S. Good luck with satanic rituals too. I suppose you also believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?

Actually, I think it came out after a movie. And no....while the information in it is probably disturbing, it's not real.

As for the Book of Satan that someone else referred to...that's a bunch of B.S. as well. Those in the Church of Satan don't actually "worship" Satan. They do the things they do for shock value and are mostly degenerates who feel the need to go against the "norms" of society.

The Book of Satan is anti religion in general..I think that there's a passage in there that reads something to the effect of, "Turn the other cheek and get two black eyes." It just a bunch of anarchy type crap.

You shouldn't read too much into either book. They aren't even all that entertaining. Just twisted.

Nope. The necronmicon was an invented book to give a back-bone and basis for H.P. Lovecraft's horror stories.

Unable to answer, since skull contents have now melted.

At least there was something in that cranium of mine.

As for an answer, yet again, I have no clue.

No, it's a retarded book, same with LeVey's "Satanic Bible" and Crowleys "Magic in Theory and Practice". Though each has it's own appeal.
