I am so sorry for your stress and the cat's illness.

You are not alone in this pain and I hope you can find support from family and friends.

A mass in the stomach could come from things other than leukemia. The size of the tumor or its position pressing on other organs could certainly affect your cat's mobility.

I don't understand why a vet would make the assumption that it is leukemia. There is a high probability that it is some form of cancer.

Can you afford to go on with diagnosis -- x-ray, or ultrasound, and maybe surgery? Metacam or piroxicam are sometimes successful in reducing the size of tumors. These drugs have some pain relieving properties too. They had been suggested for my cat with bladder cancer.

Well if something of a large or abnormal size was in your belly would you feel some discomfort? It has to be uncomfortable to say the least even if painless. If it is attached to a nerve or some other organ that would cause similar problems. If it is benign, why don't you have it removed and save the pet some stress. They stress easily anyway much moreso when ill. What do you say?

It is hard to say what is causing the problems. Having a tumor pushing on your organs could cause discomfort and walking difficulties. I would look into bloodwork, ultrasound, exam and decide if your cat's quality of life is good or poor.
