Why should I believe in God? A book that he told people to write says so. Well who says it was inspired by him? The book did. So the only thing that says God told them to write this book is the book itself? So it is it's only evidence. So why believe in it? God says to have faith. Says who? The book again. The book that uses itself as it's only evidence? Yeah, that book. So a book that has no real evidence says I should blindly believe it because it says so?

Not a very solid arguement. Would that arguement work in a court? I If I said I didn't murder some one and my only evidence was my own story, my only witnesses are the other suspects, and the reason you should believe my story is because me and the other convicts said it's true. Would some one with that arguement be passed off as innocent in a reasonable court?

Don't take offense, I'm not bashing anyone, just trying to provoke some thought. By the way I know Jesus was a great person and probably did love everyone and was a great spiritual leader (even though he was in juxtopposition to the sometimes ruthless God he preached). I just think he was mislead and wasted his life when he accepted death. If he died for me I'm sorry but it didn't do much, I wish I could take it back for him, he could have done a lot more good living.

The Bible is really just a fake story, perhaps a bit like the Loch Ness monster tales.

When we pass on information to another (example: story, joke, description of something etc) by the time these details are passed on by word of mouth, interpreted by others, and then written down, the final details are typically quite different than the original information.

Since the Bible is just a man-made story passed down over many years in various forms, the chance of it being accurate in any shape or form is remote.

There are people who swear blind that the Loch Ness monster exists regardless of all the evidence to the contrary, but a fence post bobbing up and down in the Loch does the trick. Similarly there are people who swear blind that God exists and the Bible is fact, yet there isn’t one blind bit of evidence to support such theories.

Biblical tales are really no different than Loch Ness monster tales, just the era is different. God is just another fake creation by man.

Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.

Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Faith is just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason.

Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.

By what criteria would you believe ANY historical literature? Use the same criteria for assessing the validity of the bible and you will find that it stands up better than most ancient literature. I do not believe you have the necessary internal industry for the task however. Isn't it more convenient for you to bash the claims without personal investigation for yourself? Else you would not make such statements had you gone the route of someone with honest intentions.
Why should you believe in God?
Why should you not believe in God? The evidence is there if you were more sincere in your search. Some say that they can't possibly believe in God because a loving God would not allow so much suffering and pain in the world. Does this describe you? If so I have a question for you. If God does not exist by default because of so much bad then I say how can you say that God does not exist when the world has so much good ? If there truely was no God wouldn't evil have completely taken over by now?
No one is suggesting that you "blindly" believe in anything...not like you blindly believe in the reasons for your unbelief at least.
Don't believe anything blindly. God gave you a mind and it sounds like it is a very bright one. Use it in the way that He intended and investigate the evidence for yourself. Faith, contrary to what you may have heard is nothing more or less than simple trust. Something is trustworthy when the evidence reveals it as such. By your questions regarding the person of Jesus, I would say you lack the understanding of who He was/is.

If God were to personally appear before you, in any form that was spectacular enough to convince you that it was really Him, then you would not have any real choice about following Him~you'd know you had to. And when theres no choice, theres no opportunity for love. But thats what He wants. He doesn't want to MAKE you follow Him. There are worse things that intelligent agency behind the universe could want from you, besides your love and your trust. ????

"The Book" as u call it is not the only evidence besides itself. Some writers of the Bible u can find in a world history lesson. There is also a real valuable peice of historic evidence called the Shroud of Turin. It is a cloth that resembles a man who was whipped with the flagram (an ancient torture tool) 40 times, stabed in the side with a spear, blood dripping from his head (possibly from a crown of thorns) and nails in his hands and feet. This is identical exactly to a man named Jesus Christ who is God's son that was sent to the earth to save the world from sin. This book that u talk about talks about the exact same things that are on this shroud, that happend to Jesus Christ. Now, look at the world around u, the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest, the whole ocean! Now look at the sky, the clouds, then to the universe, the solar system, the planets, the stars, the comets, asteroids, other galaxies. Ppl say this happened by chance!!! Now if u take a health class, u study the amazing body. Ppl say that all that we are evolved by a cell. Everything around u could not just happened by chance, it has purpose and design. The designer is the God Almighty. It just takes a little bit of faith.

Do you really believe that the Bible was all just a made up fair tale? You got to be joking me!? How can it express so much detail into something totally made up? How can it be written by 40 men during different length of time and still match eachother? How could they know all these dates of birth and all that? How come there are ther first 4 books of the New Testiment so alike, and yet they were all different people? Do you have the answer for those questions? I hope this help you understand more!

I know that everyone has a right to their own opinion and I can accept that. I can't help but feel bad for those that don't see God's miracles every day. They must have a rough life not having faith. I guess people disregard what they don't understand. I know that the Bible can be very hard to understand, but if you try, you can find in it where we are at in times(unfortunately, it's not a good part, and only to get worse). I know that God will come through to those that don't believe, but I know there are many people that he cannot help. I realize that I have not given any proof that God does exist but many people who don't believe won't believe no matter what anyone says.
I will pray for you though.

I pity those who have no faith. All other "Gods" have been rejected because they are fake. If God doesn't exist then tell me how can "a piece of bread" make 4,500 teens cry, laugh, and even faint just from being in the presence of it, and no it wasn't moldy, stinky, or anything like that because it wasn't bread, it was the body of Christ. And how can being prayed over with a piece of wood make 50 teens feel this awesome sensation that words can't describe, and no it wasn't drugs, it was a relic of the true cross. Have pity on those who don't believe. They will believe when it's too late, when they are in hell for eternity, where it is a million degrees Fahrenheit. I pray for those who don't believe but for some it is too late.

Why should I believe God?__Your life depends on it.
Right the book says God Almighty inspired it. If you studied the book, and humbled yourself and asked God to show you if the Bible is his word, HE will show you. When you know in your heart and your mind that it is, then you will believe.

God has the power to create a universe, I believe, and since we need information, about the rebellion and salvation, a great way to inform us is in a little book with a big story, easy for him.

I hope you find the truth..best wishes..Tina

If you don't believe in God then what do you believe in?
Now that is the question. For how do you think things in
this world have come to be? Put the bible aside and look
around you. I do not believe that anything on this world was
just created by man alone. For then we sit back and wonder
where did man come from he had to come from a creator.
I believe that if you don't have faith or someone to turn to you have no one. For friends and even family can deceive you and we came in this world alone and we shall leave this world alone. So you should have some type of faith to turn to when you are alone.

There is no way to prove God any more than there is to disprove God. All I can do is offer the reasons I came to believe. Maybe they'll work for you...

First of all, when we look around we find that people of faith are generally happy. They have confidence to face issues without being afraid of rejection, anger or disinterest. While some may not believe that they are happy, it remains that people of faith also have courage and are usually well-balanced. Not that unbelievers are unbalanced as a rule, but my experience has shown me that many are. So there's a valid reason to at least give it a shot.

The other thing to remember is that sometimes circumstantial evidence can nearly as powerful as empirical. Let's take electricity for example. The accepted scientific theory is that electrons move from atom to atom, creating a flow of current that can be harnessed and used as a powerful tool (note to electricians and others - I'm aware that the Franklin theory says it proton movement but the standardized belief is electron flow).

No one has ever seen electricity. The atom is too tiny to be observed, even by the most powerful electron microscope. All we can do is measure the result and from that infer that electricity flows. There is plenty of evidence - turn on any electric or electronic device & you will see the results of harnessing electricity. But no one has ever seen it.

Now, you can look at the results of electricity and decided you still don't believe. You'd be in the minority, but you're welcome to believe what you'd like to. Your belief doesn't change the truth - electricity exists. And there is a way to test it that will convince you better than any other test.

NOTE - for legal purposes I am entering a disclaimer that states I am not recommending this action, but offering it as a literary example. By continuing to read this you are tacitly agree that you alone are liable for taking this action and absolve me of all liability from any possible injury that results from it.

If you don't believe in electricity, try taking a light bulb out of a lamp, turning the light on and putting your finger in the socket. You will believe. You may still choose to deny it, but you will have personal experience with electricity that will probably change your mind.

That's just like God. You can see the affect He has in people's lives and still choose to deny Him. You can witness a glorious sunset and the delicate balance of nature and not believe that He created it. But put aside your prejudice and decide that you are willing to believe, and results can begin. You don't even have to believe. You just have to be willing to believe. Through that crack God can widen your view until you become like me - convinced beyond any doubt that God exists and with enough personal experience to accept that as solid evidence.

May God bless you and may you find Him as you seek.

The Bible was written exactly like God instructed it to be, and there have been compelling evidence to substantiate this written word. Artifacts have been found, and other objects have been found that supports the Bible. But the most important is faith, believing in the Bible because you know it is the truth. Without faith you have nothing
