my coworker states that is how her son started and he was diagnosed with delayed speech. You should make an appointment with his pediatrician if you are worried about it and ask about speech therapy. Better safe than sorry.

It could be either a tic or a form of stuttering. I would call your local school district and ask to have him evaluated by a speech pathologist. It may be absolutely nothing... just a glitch as he tries out sentences and tries to figure out what he is going to say. But, I'd rather be safe than sorry and find out what is going on. I work with preschoolers with special needs, and sometimes seizure disorders can present themselves in the form of speech disorders. But rather than fill you with a bunch of unfounded concerns (since I have never actually met your son), I would rather you take your concerns to a professional. Your local school district will be in charge of evaluating your son since he is over the age of three. Call them to set up an appointment, and good luck!

Check out the web site for The Stuttering Foundation of America. It gives tips for parents on how to determine if their child is stuttering and how to help.

take him to his pediatrician for for an evaluation to be safe. it could just be something minor, like a tic or a stutter, but better safe than sorry!!! at the most, the doc may refer him to a speech pathologist or specialist.
