of course but you will need to slowly introduce them to each other and you will definately need a cat carrier for the safety of the kitten...the older one may be annoyed at first but it will be fine

YES!!!!!!!! I did! I just adopted my 5 month old male kitten from my SPCA almost three weeks ago. I already had a 2 year old female cat. the first week I had him was very hard on both of them because my female felt that he was invading her space and my kitten really didn't know where he was at. it just takes time and patience for a kitten and a cat to get along. it may take weeks, months, or even years. fortunatly, for me, my two cats are like mother and son!! they lay together and clean each other and everything!!

It depends on your cat, but most of the time, yes it is probably no problem.. Some cats prefer to be alone though.

My advice would be if possible to put your cat together with another cat, or kitten (the one you'd like to get if at all possible) and see how they get along. It would be unfortunate to have to keep them separated, but I've known people who have done it. Makes for more work and stress as the pet owner though. :(

Yes. And, chances are, your older cat will enjoy greater health with a kitten to romp and socialize with. I had an old male cat who, once a year, went out into the world and brought home his own kitten to raise. His name was Peepers.

it kind of depends on your older cat. try taking your cat to the pet shop or something and see how she does with other cats first. But if your cat is calm and sweet and does good with other animals than I am sure she/he will do just fine with a kitten

You'll have to be a little careful about sexing them, two males could be a problem, not so much a problem with two females. An older female with a younger introduced into her home, her space, could be difficult though.Look at how people behave first and consider your decision based on that thought.

It depends on your old cat's attitude toward other animals. It will eventually get used to it, but may never actually like it. My grandma keeps getting cats by accident. My old cat, my brothers cat, a wild cat, my aunts cat. None of them really get along, but they don't really care, they just avoid one another.

YES! That's what I did, and they get along pretty well. Just introduce the newbie slowly and give the current cat lots of love & treats & playtime so he doesn't feel rejected.

Yes. I did. After a short period of adjustment (the big one ignoring the little one) it was no time at all before they began their road races, hide and seek and memorable midnight crazies. They are a lot of laughs. Enjoy!

Yes sure, much easier than trying to get to adult cats who are already set in their ways.
