Around 7:30-8:00pm... there is a great article in Parent's Magazine about the sleep requirements of toddlers, and they recommend between 11 and 13 hours of sleep a day (including naps). Otherwise, you are going to be dealing with a tired toddler, and those are no fun at all!

My son is 3, I also have a daughter who will soon be 6. I never really had a set time for them to go to bed. He usually is tired at 8:30 or so. When we really have a busy day he is sometimes in bed at 6:30. I find when you don't push them to go to bed, they are more eager to go. Most of the time they tell me they are tired and want to go to bed instead of fighting with them for three hours to go to sleep like some parents do.

My personal opinion is when they are tired, but we shoot for around 8:30. That also depends on when normal nap time is and what time they have to be up in the morning. Our nap is from 1-3 and they have no set time to be up. So 8:30 works for us and they get up around 8.

my three year old neice and 3 year old cousin that lives in my house with me and my family they go to bed around 12 or 1 o'clock. we all do except are mom and step dad they go to bed early. the rest of us just be running around the house, finishing are homework, watching television, taking a shower, or other things that we was supposed to do earlier that day. it's just that if we be to loud then we get yelled out or if we did something bad whipped with a belt.

I would say about 12 hours before they need to get up, because even if they don't go down to sleep well, they will still get plenty of sleep - so assuming they wake up at 8am, put them down at 8pm. This isn't too early and allows them to get the necessary amount of sleep for a child of that age.

it really depends on his daily schedule so long as he gets 10-12 hours sleep a day.

mine sleeps at 11 and up at nine then naps at 3-4.

the reason i let him sleep so late is that his class is at 1pm and if i wake him around seven, he's cranky by the time classes start. so i just adjusted his whole sleeping schedule

My three year old goes to bed between 7:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. However, the earlier I get her to bed (7:00 p.m.) the better she sleeps.
