I did.

Once nice feature of the Toyota warranty is that if the car breaks down for any reason, they'll dispatch someone 24/7 to provide roadside assistance and tow you to the nearest Toyota dealer.

Since non-Toyota dealers won't even touch the Prius, and roadside assistance usually only covers taking you to the nearest dealer, I figured it was better to have Toyota deal with it. Not that I've had any problems with the car whatsoever in the last 2 years.

I would buy one yes. I have purchased the extended warranty with all of my new cars and each one has paid off handsomely. The hybrid is still relatively new technology and you never know what could go foul.

I think it is money well spent. And yes I do agree most Toyotas are very reliable. My associate had a Prvia van that ran for 500,000 miles before it went belly up.

No. An extended warranty is an insurance policy. They make a profit by showing you the cost to repair items that are not likely to break.

Toyota offers a manufacturer's warranty that is sufficient to cover anything that may be due to build defect. After that it is just wear, which the extended warranty won't cover anyway.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Hybrids havent been around nearly as long and the dull-thinking people who have said you shouldnt buy the exteneded warranty have NO clue how hybrid cars will stand the test of time. These arent normal cars and we dont know how well they after years of driving. Buy it or you will kick yourself later.

On that note, Im not sure why you wouldnt buy an extended warranty for anything. Oh well.

I have bought many, many cars in the past. I have purchased extended warranties before for several of my cars, but only once did it ever pay off. Personally, I have learned not to purchase any more extended warranties.

YES!! If your getting anything with back up camera and beyond you would have to be an idiot not to. Make sure its a Toyota extended warranty though not some third party company.

I would say no because it's been out for a while and the factory warranty is like, 5 or 6 years, right?

No way!!! They are very good cars and by the time they do break down many years later you will not have a car payment and be able to afford a break down. Just have the free warranties that come w/the car, have fun!

Depends.

First: Does it cover practically everything on the car? if not, then no.

Second: Do you pay upfront and then hope to get reimbursed by someone outside of the dealership later? If so, then HELL NO.

If it is bumper-bumper and is for 7years/100k mi, has zero deductable, and is less than $2k, then I'd say go for it.
