There is no reason for you not to be able to record your favorite TV shows on to DVD.
As long as you have some sort of antenna or cable to supply the show, the hook up would be the same as a VHS recorder, you can either use the timer as long as the date and time is correct, or just hit the record button while you watch your show.

Yes you can, if you have the system set up correctly, using the three cables, that come with the recorder.
It took me a while to figure the darn thing out, but once it was set up, it's the same as a VHS recorder.

Yes it works just like old VHS players. You just set up the timer put in a blank dvd and wait.
