Passed 4 TO1 by city council today 8/4/06 Up to $250.00 fine .After three violations,you can no longer operate a business in the city of Palm Bay,Florida.

It will likely be challenged on a Federalism claim. The U.S. Constitution gives the Federal government the power to regulate matters of immigration and naturalization. As such, the power to regulate this sphere cannot be claimed by a subordinate government (such as a state or local government) unless the Federal government has delegated its authority in that area.

It won't be the pro-illegals challenging. The business that gets caught will plead ignorance, stating how were they to know, and it will blow up.

But I do like the ordinance. Finally, an area standing up and upholding the law.

Whenever they only go after the small business, and are too scared to go after the WalMarts. Obvious.
