Three years old??? Oh my.
Sun is not your friend. I was a sun goddess in my day and luckily I used sunscreen, and only tanned my hide a few years before I got wise to the fact that while a tanned hide looks healthy it really is the opposite. Tanning will age you prematurely, and due to skin cancer, could even kill you.
Do your future self a favor--you would not believe the number of my baby boomer friends who wish they had not been sun goddesses--and stop tanning in the sun and/or at a tanning salon. With God's Grace you will get to be middle aged, and when you get there, trust me, you do not want leathery, weathered skin looking back at you in the mirror.
If you stop going to tanning salons, your daughter, who wants to do what mommy does, will lose interest.
Good luck.Tanning feels sooo good, and looks so good, and is sooo bad for you...much like your favorite dessert :)

well, there's always a time in a girls life that they want to be like everyone else. If she hangs around people who have older siblings that tan, than maybe thats where she got the idea. don't just say no. Obviously you want to say no or are confused of the right decision. Ask her a few questions to understand why she wants to tan. where she got the idea? what she knows about tanning?? does she KNOW the dangers (its dangerous, more dangerous than just going outside, because its direct rays hitting your body in a tanning salon.)? Or just say, when you're older sweetheart. You're too young now. But ask questions first, so she doesn't rebel a whole bunch.

You are the mother tell her no. If you don't start teaching her now that when you say no that you mean no, you will have nothing but trouble out of her later on in life. If she learns how to manipulate you now just imagine what you will be up against as she gets older.
Most places will not let children under the age of 14 use tanning beds because of insurance reasons. There is also laws prohibiting the use of tanning beds for children under the age of 14 in most states.

It is clear that these people don't know the power of a three year old. She can drool on you, scream at incredibly high pitch, and throw a mean tizzy fit.
Take her to the tanning salon. I mean, like how does she know abot a tanning salon at three anyway. I digress. Where was I? Oh, yeah, Take her to the salon, and put her in a booth until she comes out looking like me.
I promise you seh will never ask again. (Smile)

If she's telling you she's gonna get mad, she's playing you like
a fiddle. She knows that you can't handle her being mad. You've taught her that she can manipulate you.
Don't take her to the salon, and let her get mad as she threatened to do. Just don't cave to the display of anger, or whatever she comes up with. She's a smart willfull girl, and may try to push your buttons in other ways.
This will get worse before it gets better, because she's fighting to maintain power. Every time she has pressed hard enough, she has won. Now you have to endure her worst.
It's your giving in that has caused this. It will only be your not giving in that stops it.

As a Mother I'm surprised you even ASKED this question.! YOU should already know the answer to the question, which is of course, tell her no! How does a child of three know what a tanning salon is,that's what I would like to know?! What is happening to young children?

Um, first, get control of your family. You ARE the mother here, right? Second, neither of you should be tanning, it's terrible for you. And third, teach your child why it's wrong for her to tan, at three years of age, and how it's wrong for everyone. You are what's called in psychology, the "enabler". Your daughter acts this way because of you. Do not spoil your kid.

Wow!!!! Its ok to say no.But since you need to give your 3 year old a reason...here it goes.
It has been proven that chlidren are very resilent but very fragile. They are developing in many ways. The pigments in "young individuals" are not completely fully grown to protect themselves from the "harass" UV-rays.
Tanning can only kill developing skin cells are at least place them in a challenged condition. You do not know if your family has the "cancer" cell lurking with in her...so don't feed the situation with excessive sun, and with artifical at that.....good luck
