Contact his/her parents and let them know the situation. If it is just puppy love, i wouldn't worry too much though, that is common, but if it seems like it's not a normal kind of crush, i would speak to the parents!

Well in most states it would be illegal for the teacher to go any farther with the student; which by the way in my opinion would be wrong anyways.
To deal with it, I would call in the parents and student and have a talk with them about this. If this does not solve the problem, then I would take it to the administration.

How old are your students? An older student can be a much larger issue. If you are a male teacher and a female student "likes" you, watch out you don't want to get fired over something that you arn't involved in. If the student is putting "the moves on you" you need to talk privately to your superiors and/or the student's parents. If you are a college proffessor, you can date them!

Try to get the child's schedule changed. He/she should not be in your class. In the meantime, always have the door open to your classroom and always have other students in the class when h/she is around. This seems "cute", but there are times when your reputation should not be in question. You can make up a thousand reasons why she needs a schedule change - I'm sure a colleague would understand and take the blame for the change - other class has less kids, whatever.

Report it to the guidance counselor and have the guidance counselor talk to the student. Do not meet w/ student alone. This is coming from a teacher friend who's taught for thirty years and who's seen this happen many times.

well, if the child is a youngun (like elementary age), you should have a talk with him/ her and tell them that he/ she is a great kid, but that it is just a crush and she/ he will get over it. try to stay away from the child so that he/she does not get too close to you and try to do anything inappropriate. Kids can get to the point where they can do something that is not right and YOU are the one who will get in trouble for it. If this behavior persists, have this kid go to a counselor.
If it is a teen, send them to the counselor and see if the counselor can try and get the kid straight as to why it is inappropriate to have these kinds of thoughts about his/ her teacher.
Good Luck

First make sure it's for real. I wouldn't do anything unless you think that they are willing to take action and pursue you. I would ask the student to stay after class and tell him/her that you are not interested in him/her and that it's wrong anyways for teachers to date students. If he/she won't take no for an answer, I would tell the principal of the school or the school counselor to deal with the matters.

Well...It matters if you can tell that the student has a crush on the teacher or not. Then what does he do???Does he make it look drastic or is it a secret that everyone knows?

human beings can continually be interested in human beings. the version is that maximum adults have administration over how they act on those emotions. maximum instructors i understand are far extra possibly to have parental emotions approximately their scholars. once you're 30, take a glance at some 15 and sixteen years olds- you would be shocked at how plenty they seem to be little ones to you, not ability romantic companions! the incontrovertible fact which you think of you're grown up does not recommend your instructors think of that.
