I have invented a doomsday device that can destroy the world. However, I need some uranium to power it, and some cray paper to decorate it. Could any one loan me some of both? In return I will spare your life when the earth is destroyed and give you the position of Supreme Court Justice of Western Mars in my new civilization on Pluto.

Do you mean you need some crepe paper in addition to your Uranium?

Cray paper is the wrap that they seal a Cray supercomputer in before shipment. Very rare.

Uranium is cheap and can be dug up for free.

Hi:

I seen better Doomsday devices on T.V. My favorite is the Vorlon Planet Killer from Babylon 5. But I also found a way to improve on it. Making it about 99% more efficient at killing everything on the planet but I prefer to not to kill everything. Just destroying a few major cities with a few very big artificially launched meteors on the planet in question should be enough the convince the people of the planet . It's futile to resist me like the Centaury's did to Thrall's in the same show { Babylon 5} . but the Star Wars Death Star would do the same job nicely along with about 6.6 billion soldiers and support equipment to make sure the planet in question thinks a dozen time over about attacking me after I conquered it. Also I find destroying a planet is counter productive. you need a refueling base and a place to operate from. and any planets will provide both.

Here my list of Planet Killers from Sci-fi:

1) the Vorlon Planet Killer - Best I know of { if you want to destory a planet , especially if you up the Megatonage way up.}

2) Star Wars' Death Star { It should be renamed: The Death Moon}

3) The Star Trek Genesis device - It destroys life and creates new Life at the same time.

4) The Star Trek Doomsday Device - you know the cigar shape thing that destorys planets -

5) The Centenary City Destroyer -Space based Electro-magnetic Rail Gun Meteor Launcher platform, use enough of them and a planet can be laid waste

6) Man's own Nuclear Arsenal back in the 80's { Show Doctor Who, Tom Baker Series- " When it come to destorying themselves, those humans border on the ingenious" - The Key of Time )

7) Buck Roger's " Obriting space satellite

8) Nanotechology - Were almost to the level of Star Trek's Genesis Device here.

Gort- the indestructible robot cop with a Johnny Disintegrator Beam weapon { from the Show : "The Day The Earth Stood Still"} So don't Hurt any Aliens who come in peace or at least keep the U.S. Army on a tight lease

Uranium is hard to get, Most of it is under lock and key and heavily guarded. Unless you have a Uranium mine and a enrichment plant handy. There almost no way you are going to get your hands on it. Unless you got a Lot of money.

Good Luck and best wishes and keep on dreaming.

Very impressive. I would lease you some Plutonium, which should work better than uranium but we'll have to work on the terms.

What sort of beings would comprise your new civilization? I think perhaps I would rather be Chief Justice for the whole of Mars, not just the punny Western hemisphere. ...and do you propose sparing other complacent earthlings so I would have something to judge? As far as I know there are only two rovers, two landers and one huge hole on mars (with perhaps a few hardy microbes).

well, i have 200,000 tons of uranium under my house if that counts
but i plan to surround it in exactly 100 large Russian nuclear bombs, just because the Russian nukes are 4 times more powerful than the USA's nukes.
then i will blow them all up
making the 200,000 tons of uranium into a super-critical mass of uranium, then, it will explode.
causing every last tiny bit of earth to be disinigrated hurdling through space.

If you find some uranium, maybe we can combine our doomsday devices and blow up half the solar system together
then, we can share the fame, fortune, and glory!
i have 100 pounds of uranium
found it in some "secret" lab labeled United States property
i dunno why
but finders keepers!
i stuck some in my pool
along with my gold fish

i need some help catching my gold fish now though
i think it might be headed for europe
its a fast little (well, 500 feet long) thing!

I don't have any uranium or cray paper, but Pluto is a cool planet.

I have some at the lab, but it is not very pure. There could be some plutonium, arsenic and lead mixed in. The lab is guarded so you would need to ingest it to smuggle it out.
