It should last up to two days if you leave the freezer shut. You can make it last a little longer if you buy a chunk of 2-3 lb dry ice at the grocery store and put it in the freezer.

Different types of food have different life expectancies.
The freezer, your ice cream will start melting in about 2 hours.
The fridge, it depends on how well it is insulated and how warm a place it stands in.
A long time ago in Europe, we had no fridge, the way to keep the butter from melting was to put it into a dish with cold water.
Most food was bought on a daily basis, but meat will last OK at room temperature for a couple of days. In fact the aging makes it more tender.
Cheese just gets riper and runnier.
Lettuce and cabbage, wilts.
Fruits dry out and get fungal growth on them.
Carrots and onions last pretty well.
Milk will last 2 to 3 days before it turns sour. But once it has become sour, you can pour it through a fine cloth, the liquid falls through, the remainder is cottage cheese.
So, life expectancy also depends on whether you look to the food only in its initial state, or whether you think of what you can do after it has outlived its first stage... ;-)

If it is in an air conditoned room- 2 days
If it is in a hot garage- 12 hours , if your lucky
If it is pretty full:
Run duct tape around the outside of the door gaskets & throw a comforter over it to help add to the insulation.
If it has a lot of open room in it- buy some dry ice and QUICKLY put it in and seal it up
Do not open it any more than necessary- better yet not at all

Well, I'm not sure what the climate is like for where you live, but I live in El Paso, Tx. where the weather is hot and often humid, so here, it is usually anywhere between 4 hrs. to 32 hrs., depending on the season and outside/indoor temperature, less for summer, longer for winter.
