I have an old pioneer box and I want to hook it up in my room so that I can get my movie channels in my room. It says that the box needs an update. Is there an online update I can download through the usb jack?

The USB jack is rarely used by TWC, and there's really nothing the user can do with it. The box will take the update through the cable itself, actually, provided that the box is registered on an active account. If the box's serial number is not in TWC's computers, it will just "brick up" and stop functioning as soon as it establishes 2-way communication with the cable system.

It can't hurt to call in to customer service and have them do a lookup on the box, and if it's on your account, they can send a "hit" to it to get it working again.

No, you can't. It has to receive the update from the cable company over the cable itself. If the update doesn't come automatically, take it back to the cable company to swap it for a new one.
