put the disk in the cd/rom
then stop it if it try to auto install close off the auto instll window
then click on my computer icon
right click the drive with the cd in
click on explore
then your see the window open with the game files in now make a new folder on the desktop
right click the desktop go to new folder
then open that new folder
then go back to the sims folder that is open
on the top of the window click on edit/ select all then click on edit /copy
then on the new folder window
on the top click on
edit / paste
the files from the cd rom will copy in to the new folde
then all you need a cd burner
put a blank cd (r) in your cd burner
and burn all the files on to the blank cd (r) disk just the game files from the new folder dont burn the new folder on to the cd(r) then
when you have the game files on a new cd
install the sims again from cd 1 and cd2

send me 10 points
thanks

Scrub the CD with toothpaste for a few minutes-it's a gentle abrasive and will help smooth out the scratches. My husband does this with music CDs all the time.

If you go to a big name music store, like FYE, they usually sell cloths to help fix CDs / DVDs. They're real cheap, too, only a couple dollars max. It should clean off the CD fine. Otherwise, scratched CDs like that won't usually work.
