At least the ones that grow on trees. You wouldn't want to land at the pearly gates only to be told, "Hey, I told you not to eat that stuff, didn't I? I never said it was a metaphor for knowledge, did I? I said fruit, didn't I, dummy?".

That was Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden that wasn't supposed to eat of the fruit , not us . Where are you getting your information ? Read the New Testament because we are living under the new covenant . Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved . John 14:6

The forbidden fruit was on the one found in the garden of Eden. So unless you're in the Garden of Eden your missing out on some good fruit!

The fruit was not a metaphor it was a test, However that particular rule was given to Adam and Eve while they lived in Eden. As we've all been banned from Eden that that rule doesn't apply, besides I doubt God allowed that true to reproduce.

Nope, God set Angels to guard the tree!

So, we could not get it even if we wanted!

Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

It was already eaten.
We don't have to worry about that.
The poison got into the gene pool and here we are.
That is why the pool is becoming weaker and weaker. Notice the new maladies people are getting.
It got into the Spirit pool also.
He said you shall surely die.
They didn't die right there and then.
Their spirits died.
I have a feeling that we were capable of tremendous things before the fall.
One thing for sure was that we could converse directly with God.
He would converse directly with us also.

Yah and God told them which fruit was forbidden..so its not like they were playing a hit or miss game with the fruit...if your going to ask questions like this, you can at least first read the passage in the BIble.

Except he only said it to Adam and Eve, not to all of humanity. Even taking the Bible at face value, WE are not forbidden to eat any fruit.

There are many, many, many things in the bible which are never stated to be metaphors but clearly are. I think you're taking the fruit thing a bit too seriously.

It was actually a fruit from one tree in the Garden of Eden, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

they have already banned sex with fruits , judging by a lot of answers,
so i guess eating them could be next.
but in reality, fruits were never the issue ,it was a symbolic language ,just as Adam was symbolic for a whole race that was created ,and the serpent was symbolic of Annunaki .who were extraterrestrials, who did the creating
