'u people' stands for non-Muslims, it isnt suppose to be a racist remark, its a serious question to me.

i hope u read my answer chocolatelover.
dont say u have read the Holy Quran, 'coz its quite clear u didnt, u just read a verse from the Holy Quran that other ppl have shown u to give the wrong impression on Islam, if u would have had read the Quran, u wouldnt have said that.

So, now let me clear this misconception
What u r referring to is a verse from the Holy Quran Sura'ah Tawbah verse no. 5, right?
what u r doing is, u picked up a line without its given context/background and formed a wrong impression abt Islam?
if u would have read the starting verses of that Sura'ah (Chapter), u would have had known the context ............ i'll give u a briefing abt it, but i will really appreciate if u ppl go and check it out for urself .............. there was a Peace treaty signed b/w the Muslims and the infidels called "Meesaq-e-Medina", according to which Muslims and infidels will not fight against each other, but they will unite to defend if they are attacked by someone from outside.

2006-08-04 11:47:01 · update #2

More context is coming, i just ran out of characters.

2006-08-04 11:48:23 · update #3

The infidels broke this peace treaty, and they came to attack the Muslims without warning, but by ALLAH's knowledge Prophet Mohammad (May Blessing and Peace of ALLAH Be Upon Him) came to know of this attack, and a war was abt to be fought which is now called "Ghazwah-e-Badr" (the first ever war to have taken place b/w Muslims and infidels & i will appreciate if u can see more information abt it in some Islamic books or maybe on authentic sites to get the full context of it), the war took place in a battlefield called "Badr", the infidels were in the numbers of thousand, but the Muslims warriors (many a civillians in them as well) amounted to just 313. So, when they were abt to fight, this particular verse no. 5, that u just refered to was revealed on Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and He read it to His people. Now this is the context. With the context in view, if u read the translation of this verse, it only says what any Commander General would say to his troops nowadays. Contd

2006-08-04 12:02:45 · update #4

It says to Muslims, to not to be afraid (as they were obviously outnumbered by large, and infidels' army was made of the best warriors, as well as having far more superior weapons, as opposed to Muslims limited weapons), and to slay the infidels when they come up to u in the battlefield ........... so by the grace of ALLAH thats what they did with around only 20 Muslim casualties, and the infidels were defeated.
By the way, that wasnt the only verse revealed at that point (i just had to make my point quickly) ............ verse no. 6 (and probably a few more verses) of the same Sura'ah (Chapter) was revealed at that time. If u would have had read Verse no. 6, u wouldnt have had any misconception abt Verse no. 5 ......... Verse no.6 dictates that if any infidel drops his weapon and asks for asylum, u shall not only grant it to him, but take him to a place of security as well.

2006-08-04 12:22:35 · update #5

I can bet any amount of money that even the most generous general will only go to the extent to order his troops not to kill anyone who drops his weapon, and will certainly not order beyond that. But, we Muslims have been commanded to such an extent by ALLAH (GOD) , that no human mind can think of going to such an extent during warfare, so now there shouldnt be any doubt left in mind that Islam is the religion of Peace & Harmony, and nothing exists without ALLAH's support and we have to fight for the existence of our religion.
But u dont have to take my word for it, and u can go and research it for urself which i will really appreciate, but dont go listening to ppl who spread these 'misconceptions'.
i hope i have cleared this "slaying the infidels" misconcept.
So, if still sthg isnt cleared u can mail me at askabtIslam@yahoo.com, and i will answer u to the best of my knowledge.
I would like to thank ALLAH and i seek HIS forgiveness if i mistaken some place, HE knows All and Best.

Hmmm, well they are the only group of people that Terrorists generally come from in the present day.

I don't ever remember reading about Catholic, Buddist, Jewish or Mormon Terrorists.... I don't see radical cathoilcis cutting off peoples heads on TV.....

I'm also always amazed the Islamic people believe they are the "true" religion. If God was on the Islamic side, why do 90% of the Islamic nations live in poverty? Wouldnt that make you think "hey, maybe were not tuned into the real GOD because our lives totally suck, we live in 3rd world countries, we have nothing and never have." and don't blame the US for all your troubles. Look at yourselves

Yes. Because your Koran demands it. Answar this, why must you kill all infidels. Sounds peaceful doesn't it? Now, what does the Bible say. Ahhhhh yes, it says to forgive and love. So, ask me again if I think all muslims are terrorists. Absolutely. And don't give me the line of crap that your Koran doesn't demand that. I've read it.

Its because of the Koran. The older writings from Medina tell the Muslim to kill the Jews and the Christians. These are where the extremest get their "so-called" holy orders from. All (ALL) Muslim must understand that they have to "clean up" their Islam or it may get them kill-even if they are innocent.

Everyone is their own person, no matter what their nationality. I worked with many middle-eastern people when I was in college right before and after the 9/11 attack. I would never think of them as terriorists. They were just college students like I was. It made me mad to hear other students start to shun them after the attacks.

Honestly, its hard not too. A member of a terroist group was interview and he stated that he can live next to an american. Know that american and even become friends with that american. When the time comes, he can kill that american. With a terrorist saying something like that, where do draw the line between profiling and safety?

It's primarily because EVERY known terrorist that has been involved in attacks on the United States since 2001 and earlier have been Muslims. Every single one.
I'm not saying all muslims are terrorists, but pretty much all terrorists have been muslims.

It is really unjust and unreasonable to think wrongly about the Muslims in general. Most of Muslims are far greater and more respectful than me for not having submitted my will to the Will of God.
The fanatic or Muslims-in-name who act violently do not represent either the Muslims or the Faith of Islam.
The dark condition of the world today is not because of the Muslims or of the followers of any religions, it is because of the darkness in each of our individual mind for turning our back to Almighty God our Creator. Let each one of us turn our face to the One True God, sincerely learning about His true love and apply this in our personal life, to illuminate our soul first. If each individual among six billion individuals submits his will to the Will of God, it is not a small thing at all.
Please think about God and rethink about our own judgement.

All Muslims are not terrorists, but very many...VERY MANY support the terrorists (go to CNN.com or FoxNews.com) Because they are raised from birth to hate the West and the Jews. And their "bible" tells them to kill us (the infidels, or non-Mulsims)...they can spin it any way they want, they spin and hijack everything....but it is the truth. They are the anti-Christ...They are bloodthirsty and violent and rejoicing when other Muslims kill any infidels.

I don't know why, I don't understand it. Muslims I have known are peaceful people, they love their families and not in the least bit violent. They respected me, my family and where I am from. Not all so called "terrorists" are Muslims.

Cause you believe that God wants you to kill and harm the infidels.
