Lots of talk and getting to know all about him. Over time he will trust you and tell you everything, especially if you are open with him. Honesty is really important because it can be a matter of life and death. AIDS test may not show up for a long time.

You can tell, expecially if he is the one doing the deed. Some will go slow, He will seem in experienced and may have a hard time getting you, ya know. Another way is to see how long it takes for him to finish the deed, like 1 hour or so.

Honey unless he has herpes (small blister like things) around his mouth or penis u cant tell.. they are a bunch of losers who just wont say crap. other then "lets have sex."
Everyone is nervous the first time they have sex with a new partner so the nervousness thing wont help u know if he is a virgin. and also if he sucks in bed another reason some guys just suck so that wont help either.
