i want to dye my hair hot pink
stay for a month or more
so, i did some research
and it said that i have to bleach my hair first in order for the colour to show
unfortunally, my hair is black
since i only want it to be semi-perminent
so, going blonde for real isnt going to work
and i have about 50 bucks i could spent on
any other recommendation?
if its a product or something, i have to know where could i buy it

well.

it is possible to bleach your hair from black to white, but it would take 2 bleaching cycles (i used jerome russel and i've done it twice..) and then yeah, you could dye your hair hot pink (use special effects) and once you're done with that you could just dye it black again (note: this is harder than bleaching it, once your hair is blonde it doesn't want to go back and it'll fade for months until it decides to grab..)

but you can't dye your hair light pink without lightening it from black.. so i don't think you have any hope here unless you want to do what's listed above, and that seems ridiculous to me.

There is no product that you can put in your hair to make it hot pink if your hair is currently black. Instead of bleaching it completely, you can use a bleach that is not as intense to lighten your hair. I would recommend going to your local beauty supply, they should be able to show you which bleach / lightening agent to use. Once you have lightened your hair to at least an orange tone, use a product such as Manic Panic (available at Sally's beauty supply) or Special Effects (I like this brand best - available at www.hottopic.com or in store) to get the hot pink color. These brands are semi-permanent and will lremain bright for about 2 weeks. Then when you are tired of it you can dye your hair back to black.

The stuff at hot topic is crap. I use it and it fades FAST. Like, a few days fast. I would go to a professional hair styling store. That's what I do and I have purple, blue, pink and yellow highlights in my blonde hair. It looks Awesome and lasts for months. I go to Sally's beauty supply store which is the same place professionals buy their stuff and its actually fairly good prices!

What I did was ask the person that works at the nearest Hottopic (lol) Suprisingly, they know alot. You can get the dye there and bleach for under $50.
And your hair won't turn blonde, I think it will be more of a whitish.

Buy two bleaching kits, since you have black hair, you'll probably need to do it twice. Leave the bleach in for the maximum amount of time the kit says you can. (If it turns out that you need to use two kits to bleach your hair, don't bleach your hair twice in the same day! Wait about a week after the first bleaching or else you'll seriously damage your hair.)

A couple of days after bleaching it, use a good quality demi-permanent pink hair dye. If you have hair longer than your shoulders, I suggest buying two sets of it so you'll have enough for all of your hair. (You can use both kits of pink dye at the same time.)

Good luck, it'll look awesome! :)

You sound like such a follower. Why dye your hair pink? Thats not cute or stylish. It's just some dumb fad that will end up damaging your hair. Take better care of yourself than to follow every dumb fad (thats not even stylish). Save your dough and your hair, go a different route with the hair.

If you want hot pink hair, you have to bleach it first. There really is no "easy" way to do it if you have black hair. Save up your money then try going to a beauty salon and get some suggestions.

My brother recently tried that and he has black hair. He felt the same way about bleaching it out, so he didn't. When he put the pink in it, it turned a purplish-red color. It looked good, but not quite the effect he was aiming for. I suggest you bleach it out, or I wouldn't go pink. That is, unless you wouldn't mind purplish-red hair.

Hey! :) I dyed my hair hot pink last year.. and I have to tell you, there's no easy way to do it...
My hair is light brown and it took 3 bleaching processes to get it blonde.. it has to be almost white for the pink color to stay...
So, go to a pro and ask for the treatment (cause your hair suffers a lot through this :P) and do it! by the way, you will have to paint it twice if you wanna keep it for a whole month....
Good luck!! :)
