...90% of all current conflicts seem to link back to one subject - RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES. I have no religious beliefs, but surely one of the underlying principles of all religion is an opposition to war and fighting. Therefore, all you religious types are making a mockery of yourselves and making your beliefs seem ludicrous. Give me one good answer where your religion justifies violence or war. If you can, then your religion is surely nothing short of supporting war mongering, which in principle is totally wrong.

I totally agree, it is just an excuse for insecure, horrid, repulsive ppl to make more unfortunate ppl's lives a living hell, this didn't start with religion, it started on the playground when some jumped up little bully decided to mock everyone and got away with it, i suppose it just spiralled from there, religion is the biggest excuse under the sun...... oh mummy i'm sorry for doing a huge fart and putting a hole in my best trousers, but as i prayed last night my God told me this is what should be done..... or what about, i'm sorry someone was murdered, i do agree the knife was in my hand, but it was my beliefs and religions that this person should die.... what a load of bull!! sorry its a bit long winded but this relly winds me up ;-)

I disagree with 90% of conflict being traced to religious differences!

The real reasons are often commercial or economical, but since the public wouldn't accept or choose to die for these reasons, those in control try to come up with a "righteous" or "religious" cause to excuse it.
Look up most conflicts and I'm sure you can find the real reason if you look hard enough.

True religions do not and should not justify violence as a way to get their message across. It defeats the whole purpose of keeping religion pure.

you need to get a life. Religions are there so that people have things to believe in. Yes, it does start wars, but that make it pointless? Course not, all it means is that people dont share the same beliefs.

Lucky you are 100% correct. The current conflict has OIL at the end which ever way you look at it.

All true religions teach tolerance. War is the very last means of settling a difference.

The majority of conflicts are caused by human greed; and unfortuneately it is blamed on religious beliefs. Mankind does not like admitting responsibility for their actions.

it does not have any uses in real life. i mean does it actually prove that god exists? nooooo!!!! and how is religion useful to someone in real touble.i mean if you get pregnant out of marrige, does it comfort you? no it ,akes u out to be a sinner!!!! now what is the point of that? religion started so many wars and killed millions, devided neighbours ie Ireland & England or the Middle East, and it even devided families. now relegion is supposed to unite, so what is the point of that???/

At face value I can see how people think religions start wars and violence.
Here is the core reason: 'Judgement' plain and simple.

Unfortunately, you are quite correct...millions, over ages, have been killed, tortured, maimed, in the name of God...blasphemous in & of itself, no matter what dogma created the affrontal.

The fact remains that we are a race of creature that fears difference...looks at diversity as separateness...and those that seek power & control use these with great results toward their own intentions...

And this too, will pass....

oh my you have good questions here.

unfortunately some religiuos people and christians may be offended and therefore tell on you (report abuse) instead of giving a grown up response. As a result your question will be deleted, they'll probably just pick the category 'not a question or answer' for reasons of violation.
