okay, so i woke up this morning to find a tums bottle in my bed it was chewed up and the contents missing (tropical smoothie smooth dissolve tums) soo i know the dog has ate them b/c i can't find them anywhere and the bottle is chewed up...sooo is eating tums going to hurt him..there was about 15-20 left in the bottle...someone give me good news?!?

I don't think it'll hurt him. I know people that eat Tums as candy...I know, sick right? Tums is just an antacid, to help neutralize stomach acid. The biggest thing that might happen is your dog gets a little constipated due to that much calcium.

No, Tums won't hurt your doggie. The calcium in them is actually good for him, but he may get a little constipated. Keep a watch for this and if he does, check with a vet or other expert as to what to give him if he doesn't go.

If Tums killed dogs, all of mine would be dead as my mother has acid reflux, and my dogs have a taste for Antacids. It they got into something like Pepcid Complete I would not be so sure but normal Tums are just fine.

theres got to be a reason why a vet says to only give, 1/2 a tums a day. Call your vets office and ask, they wil tell you something right off the bat, because you are worried.

no, he should be fine. it contains mostly calcium. when my dog was pregnant, My vet told me to give her tums or rolaids to increase her calcium intake.

it should be fine just watch him carefully for twenty four hours. he might get gassy or constpation or diaria which would be normal.he could even throw up.if your dog starts swayimg back and forth or gets lazy than i would take him in but I thimk he will be fine

he'll be fine... he may throw up but very doubt full. Just make sure he drinks a lot of water... no need to worry it's just calcium.
