Beat him into submission and drag him to his father's house, then you won't have a single problem getting him to go, he'd die just to get away from you. easy fix

Okay well, first of all I would be checking why he doesn't want to be there, because there has to be a reason, and it could be serious, or just something that might be able to be worked out, but it's always good to know the reasoning behind this behavior.
Totally understandable that you wouldn't want to go through court, its a hassle, so maybe if he doesn't like going to his fathers house, maybe the father could come and visit the boy at your house, while your there kind of like supervised visits, but without the whole court mess, I'm sure if you and the father have a talk, you guys can work something out between you for the best interest of the child! Good Luck!

Everyone has the same answer and it is the right one. Your child since (according to you) since the age of One 1/2 has disliked going to his fathers house. The question I pose to you why has he still continued going for 4 years with out seemingly either parent seriously questioning why? Where does a five year old muster the courage to tell his father I am not going over there again? Do NOT insist upon your childs returning to his fathers untill you know real reasons as to why he doesnt like to go. Several options were raised such as "creepy" neighboors or friends (or possibly your Ex himself). All of these are plausable. I suggest you listen to your child and if he will not talk to you seriously consider finding a therapist or someone he will talk to to tell you why he has taken a stand. I promise it will not be because he didnt like breakfast.

Have you asked him why he doesn't like to go over there? There must be a good reason - children are usually flexible. Does his father ignore him or do you have any reason to believe that he might be abusing your son in any way? Is there someone or something at his father's house that scares him like a creepy basement or an obnoxious neighbor who may have threatened him in some way? You might want to try getting him to a child therapist, but for now I would respect his wishes and not force him to go. But find out what is going on - something just isn't right.

ask the child WHY. children usually have a reason for not liking someone and it's up to YOU the parent to find out WHY from the CHILD'S point of view. and then GET READY to go through the court system if you decide to listen to your kid. (which is something you should be doing anyhow...)

If I were you I would ask him why he doesn't want to go to his dad's house there's a reason for it...most kids just don't say they don't want to go...somethings going on there...my 12 year old doesn't want to go cuz she doesn't like her step mom who treats her terrible...but your little one is very young and so there must be a reason underneath the surface...good luck

find out what is going on, there must be a reason for your son not wanting to go over there. Have your son see a councilor and find out what is going on.

Try to get him to tell you why. Something could be going on over there that he doesn't want any part of.
