My old shotugn is OLD. I think I got it sometime in the early 70's and think it's time for me to get a new one. I don't know what is out there, but I'm looking for something in a 20 gauge. My old one is an Ithaca and I love it.

I'll be using it for smallgame and birds. Mostly pheasants and squirrels

IMHO the Remington 870 is the most versatile, well made and economical shotgun you can buy....Every barrel length or choke pattern you can imagine is available for reasonable prices...

I just checked "gunbroker.com" they have 460, 870's up for auction...gunbroker or "gunsamerica.com" are good places to start looking... After I narrow down what I might be interested in, I go to big gunshows. I have to like the feel...And, you never know sometimes you can find great deals at a show...

If your Ithaca is just worn out and you would like one in better condition? used model 37's in very good condition are available..gunbroker had a couple of nice ones...

If, you're just wanting a change...Check out some of these
Benelli - Nova 20 $300+
Beretta - AL390 runs a little under $600
Browning - A5 or Gold Hunter
Ruger- Red Label $800+
Weatherby - Orion - Athena - on the expensive side

I use a Benelli super black eagle, or a Mossberg 835. Either or would be ideal. They are 12 gauge but shoot like 20 because of the recoil reducing system for both

I really like the Remington 870 Express. It is inexpensive and tough. But if money isn't an option I'd go for a Benelli.

not sure what your budget is, but my dad has a Beretta 391 Urika in 20 gauge and it's one of the lightest, sweetest shooting shotguns straight out of the box.

Remington 700 express is the most frugal and functional design on the market.

saiga 20, it uses the AK action so it is reliable, and it has one of the fastest actions on the market. they cost around $350, so they are also one of the lest expansive semi-auto's.
