I agree with Zeusbark , PCs suck compared to macs , I only got my gateway laptop because it has an AMD Athlon 64-bit processer and Windows XP media center

Okay, first of all, I think that the TrueVector service appears in Task Manager as vsmon.exe, so that's the application that you should be looking for (and closing).
Secondly, there seems to be a wide-spread problem with a recent update to Zone Alarm - I found quite a lot of discussion of a problem that SOUNDS like yours on their tech help forum. Now, I can't vouch that this is the exact problem that you're having, but you may want to try the recommendations that I've linked below - if not, I'd recommend that you look around their message board/forum for more knowledgeable advice.
Good luck!

Make sure that it truley unistalled... and maybe even do a search for true vector on your computer... Also go into your taskmanger
Right click your taskbar and go into task manager
Then make sure its on the processes tab and look there.. if its in there, click it hit end process and then do your install.
Also you can try if that doesnt work
start
run
type msconfig
hit enter
a new window pops up hit the far right tab that says start up and look in ther for truevector, if its in there uncheck it hit apply ok and restart, then try and install
if all else fails, restart.. keep hitting f8 as the computer starts an boot into safe mode.. then install
Good luck

System Restore doesn't really do anything once something goes wrong with your computer. It is more like a backup loading process but the files that are messing up your machine is still there. To completely fix your problem, is put everything you want on a DVR disk and reformat your hard-drive. Then put everything back on your computer. You fubared the harddrive by putting that program on there.

I use zonealarm, and in my services
(start ->settings->control panel->administrative tools->services)
It's listed as
TruVector Internet Monitor.
It can also be listed as VSMON, depending on your version.
what you should do:
right click on the taskbar
select task manager
select the processes tab
select vsmon.exe if you see it.
click on "end process"
you can also look for zlclient.exe
if you find it, select it and click "end process"
Run your install program.
Should work.

Try doing 'Control Alt Delete' once (twice will restart your computer)
Look for it under 'Processes'. Try shutting it down that way.

The problem with your computer exists between the chair and keyboard. Think about it.
