Some are, some aren't.

I'd rather spend 10 minutes at a fishmonger's selecting a nice filet of salmon than drive to a river and spend 4 hours trying to catch one. Some fly fishermen wonder how I can be so unsporting. Genealogy is a hobby, like fly casting and stamp collecting. We all have different tastes.

If it's good enough for "her", then nobody should interfere and put continual pressure into challenging her decision that she has already made regarding her OWN roots. I personally have a dilemma where my family comes from Royal backgrounds, and have quite an impressive history, yet I refuse to discuss it, nor do I turn into the happiest camper when I am questioned continually, especially when the questioner/annoyer continues on and on and on nagging-Let off and respect her answer that Phyllis wants nothing more to do with the personal subject. End!

It could just time. If she is not matured enough then that feels like a pressure but later on knowing your own roots becomes very very interesting. Just keep talking about it, whether she likes or not.
some parts will go in.

Some people find their identity in a different way, like being a ned or goth, or being really keen on a particular hobby or something
