Let's say your shy and you have a friend who is a girl - but you like her. Of course, shyness gets in the way when it comes to these matters - so what would be something that us girls could pick up on that you might be interested?
For example: your friend likes to take pictures. If you pick up her camera and take a picture of her - and just her - would this be a sign? or asking her to a movie, just you two together? What would be something YOU would do to hint without saying it directly?

When you get birthday gifts for her, make it a lot more expensive and more special than what you would give to your other female friends who knows her. When they talk, she'll find out that the gift you gave her was special.
If you invite her to movie, that's a sign. After the movie, buy a pair of souvernir or something for you two to remember this date. This shows her that it's not just a regular movie between regular friends.
Call her to chat. Pay attention to what she says. If she notices that you remember what she says, she'll know that you value her words and cares for her opinions. If she somehow says she likes tulips, buy her tulips and not roses. If she says she likes the Beatles, give her a Beatles memorabilia, just to show you care.

Ask her out to a coffee shop, to lunch, to a movie. One doesn't have to say "I like you" to ask someone out, it's ok to start inviting her places and see if she gets the hint.

You have great ideas yourself,then there is always the flowers,candy and card giving.Ask her out the worst that can happen is that she says no,go for it.

probably try to hang around them alot and spend time together and act really nicely and surprise her sometimes. Nothing too blatant.

nicely um i see females nervously adjusting theyr hair and smoothing their outfits around my boyfriend...i discover it a snigger. adult males may be extra diffused...theyl probably stare or attempt to allure to close around you many if theyr involved.
