She threatened to hit you with a belt? For not doing something as simple as closing the blinds? Oh my god she is so over reacting! Oh wait, let me see, she's probably told you to close them about 200 times already, and you're a kid, and she's your mother. As for being hit with a belt, it's called a SPANKING and that's what parents do when kids don't mind, behave, etc. As for going to the police, by all means, if you think you need to, go right ahead, hopefully the deputy will take his uniform belt off, you know that big black one with all the webbing, and give you a spanking as well, and believe me, my niece knows that feeling because her mother, a police officer, has spanked her with her utility belt. LOL, so yeah go to the cops. In the mean time, close your blinds.

You should call the police if a crime has been committed. That does not appear to be the case. But let's say your mom DID hit you with a belt, and you decided to call the police. Keep in mind that once the authorities become involved--and that will include the police as well as child protection--you could end up being separated from your mom and living in a foster home. I don't know how old you are, but I hope you and your mom can find a more peaceful way to get along.

well, this is definitely a scary situation to be in and i know because ive been there before. but before you get all freaked out and start calling the police or whatever, think about how you behave. when your mom asked you to close the blinds, did she have to aks more than once?? if not, by saying she was going to hit you, she was threatening you which is obviously not good. but also, think about if there have been any other situations when she has said that she would hit you after she had to keep on asking you to do something. if this has happened, then maybe your mother just finds it easier to threaten you than keep on asking you because she knows you will do it. this is not good but if she does hit you, even just once, you should definitely call the police. child abuse is against the law. hope i helped you and good luck with your problem!

Your mother loves you and unfortunately we live in a world where people will set out to harm others. Your mother felt that you were endangering yourself by having your blinds open at a particular moment. Love your mother and love that she loves you enough to be concerned about you. I am 40 yrs old and was raised on a belt. I hated her for it then, but I love her for it now. I see kids undisciplined, rebellious and hateful. I wonder what they will be like when they get older. Will they have the smarts to make it in the world because their parents coddled them. That's another tangent, but my answer is "no."

Police? This is a joke right? Listen...if your mom threaten you with a gun that's a different story. This is not a case of child neglect so the police would just laugh at you.
If you do things right the first time she wouldn't threaten you at all. Listen to your mom the first time and obey her.

Unless you are in genuine fear for your health and safety, then no. Cooperate with your mother. I assume you are a teenager and that means that unless you mother has is a super hero, you most likely match her for strength and won't abused like a small child could be.
If you report your mother to the police you will change your relationship with her forever. You might no care now, but you will one day and that is a bell you cannot unring.

I don't think it's worth calling the cops, although you can. Just bare with it for now, if it gets to the point where she is beating you and you feel like your life is in danger, then go to the cops.

just shut the ****** blinds... i stopped getting spanked when i was 16 and i kept doing the same **** just chill unless u want to be out on the streets on ur own
