if you were to line up 100 different breeds of dogs, and you were told to judge the dogs based on what breed showed aggression, barked at people, the ones that were very loving and very playful ext. All of the ignorant people would see that pit bulls are just the complete opposite of how the media portrays them just to make a quick buck on destroying one of the best companions a family could ever ask for! I own two pit bulls and also have owned MANY different breeds of dogs in my life. I can't tell you the number of times other "family" "Cute" "Little" or any other warm fuzzy name that goes along with every other dog then a pit bull have tried to Attach, bite, growl, at my pit bulls, and yet my dogs sit down and do nothing when this happens...I love educating people on mans best friend, People need to relies that all dogs are cute little innocent puppies at one time, some just weren’t given a fair chance at life..its just how people raise their dog. Most dog owners are uneducated.

People forget that their dog is nothing but a pack member of what you call your "family house hold" and let their dog get away with things it shouldn’t be getting away with I encourage people to read about Wolves and also read pit bulls for dummies. Then we will be able to sit down and have a serious conversation on what is a BAD DOG.

Most people don't know what they talk about, but a lot do. Growing up my family always had pitbulls... and there were six kids... none of us never got hurt, but pitbulls are made to be mean, and that's what most people do with them. It is unfortunate because it gives a bad name to all of the dogs, but that's life. Let's just say I wouldn't have any around my children(i have 3), but then again I wouldn't have ANY dogs around them if I could help it. You never know.... dogs snap for no reason all the time, I think they should all die since they have no purpose.... except the sheep dogs,etc..

Pitts aren't the only ones. I have a 100 pound Rott that is the biggest couch potato i've ever had. He will however let me know in a low toned growl that he doesn't like someone. I listen to my dogs however and if they don't like someone I trust my dogs over any human. I also usually find out that the person has done drugs or is not a nice person at all. Those people are not allowed back to my home. Because of my dogs they keep me safe. I know I will cry IF they were to ever bite someone for no reason because I would put them down. I do believe that is the responsiblity we take with any dog though. No dog should be allowed to bite anyone and it should be the owners fault too, not just the dog getting the bad rap

It does depend on the owner. many people still breed pit bulls to fight and they are bred to not give up easily. Studies have shown that generally pit bulls are more aggressive. Now as to the responsibility of the owners, that is where most of the trouble lies. It is too bad that all pit bulls are put into one category. I believe that all dog bite and attack issues must be dealt with on a case by case occurrence. There are many cases of inbreeding of other dog breeds that bring about undesirable behavioral problems in the offspring. We need to go after the owners not the dogs.

pit bulls were bred for pit fighting (hence the name), there is something to be said about genetics. Their jaw strenghth is a lot more than say a terrier, whether they are ill tempered or not they are more dangerous because they are capable of greater harm. And before you go calling others uneducated you might want to learn how to spell. ext should be etc (short for etcetera) , relies should be realize and Im not even going to get into all of the run on sentences and misuse of grammar and punctuation.

I love pit bulls! I have a rottweiler and people often pre judge him too. I would have to say people that do that are ignorant or to skiddish.

i don't get why ppl think that just because one dog acts up does not mean the whole breed is a wast of time your right some people are just blind to the fact that they are wrong.

I know! I hate it when people do that. Like Rottweilers get a bad name just because they're mostly trained to be feirce guard dogs, but they're not.... their really sweet dogs.

Doggies are great. People shouldn't say negative things about them. It's too bad some doggies have misbehaved so that people lump them all into a group.
