With all the wars happening, famine, poverty and hatred there is in the world. I think it is time to say enough is enough. The answer to end all this misery is that we should all work together. No matter who we are. Lets work together to achieve peace and happiness in our life time. It's about time.

I am very sad at the amount of defeatsim that people have brought to my question. I think we deserve a chance to get out of the mold of death and destruction. We all have common interests and desires. I believe it can be done. Oh and for one of you, you're quoting the Holy Qu'ran out of context. Lets all be fair to one another. Two wrongs don't make a right.

My goodness these last few answers have been dreary! As I say we all have commons aspirations. But if people can't look beyond mediocraity and trivia then I'm sorry for them. How else will humanity survive unless we all come together and work together? We can do it to survive, we have to believe in ourselves. It's not hard, it is essential.

I used to want to work for the UN and be a diplomat, but as i got older, i saw that IGO's don't really work, and states only practice the paradigm of realism. I'm not very optimistic for the fate of humans anymore. If two groups of people with two different beliefs can't get along together, after all this time, I really doubt this earth, which is composed of a scope of beliefs and values and traditions and viewpoints will ever get a long.
But it's not that people shouldn't have tradition, or beliefs, and what not, is that they SHOULD have RESPECT for one another, and their beliefs and so on. Thats the biggeset fault in our society today, we lack RESPECT. We ALL need to abolish this superiority mentality and learn to take people as they are. I don't mean that we have to tolerate all other peoples actions, including terrorism, and genocide, but we have to see what we have in common as a human race and unite, instead of illuminating our differences. But who cares what I say, I am not in power, and no one will listen to a 21 yr old girl fresh out of college.
So i guess the answer is to this question, in order to achieve peace, we must prepare for war.

Half of the problems in our lives are because we act without thinking, and rest half is because we keep thinking without acting.
Once a man asked GOD
" God , why the world is so bad, why there is no happiness always war & tortures, hatred ,everything is so bad. I want it good , happy ,peaceful,beautiful- But how can I do it, it's such a big world I am so small how do I do it alone.?"
GOD , all wise & kind said " JUST BUILD BETTER OF U "

Here's the problem: Define peace and happiness. North Korea's government believes peace and happiness can be achieved by obliterating the U.S. As a resident of the U.S., I disagree with them.
Extremist Muslims want to achieve peace and happiness by killing everyone who is not an extremist Muslim.
We preach "tolerance" on the one hand, then can't tolerate when others' opinions and defintions differ from ours.
It may be time for peace and happiness, but on whose terms do you want it?

You can achieve happiness without having peace, are you unhappy because war is happening thousands of miles away..? War is a necessary part of human interaction and deplomacy, it has always been used as a way to exert your ideas over someone else, and is often the only solution.

How? You have no answers. If a society is anarchistic, then it is survival of the fittest. If it a dicatorship, then power goes to the rulers and many people die. If it is a democracy, well it could be anything. If it is republic, then there is some hope, within that country.

It's human nature. People find it easy to kill an enemy who is faceless-you can depersonalize them. people always want more...tribute, lebensraum-you name it. Conflict is a part of the human psyche, I'm sorry to say. We need a Caesar Augustus or a Cyrus the Great.

Neat idea! Do you know how to make it work? I think I do.
You build up your strength until nobody wants to mess with you.
Then you set good examples for the rest of the world to follow. Then you help those that can't help themselves.
Let's hear it for AMERICA!!

No one could NOT change his mind unless he has no mind.
Occupying other people by force is losing policy in the past and now and has no future.
