how great, I don't have such problems :) - my father is 20 years older than my mother, he's even 1 year older than my grandma!! They would never tell me that my man is too old! I suppose...So - from my own experience and from my parents' - the age is not the point. It's character and personality that counts.

the best and fastest way to do it is to just be honest with them. trust me i've been in this situation before. my boyfriend is 17 and i'm 14. it was three months before my parents found out how old he really was and it felt horrible knowing i had kept it a secret for so long. i was always worried that they would find out and constantly thinking of what they would do if they found out. but it all ended up alright. just make sure that he's a good guy and that he proves himself to them first. he needs to earn their trust and respect for them to be ok with it.

I think it depends on how old you are. If the person is over 18 and you are under 18 it may cause difficulties and it really depends on how your parents are. I would just tell them strieght out, and then let them decide how they want to feel. Good Luck

depends on your age, if ure under 18 then id not be with guy, find some one nearer your own age. If older well not so bad. I know it sounds very hypocritical but it does and will make a diff. once ure older. good luck

That's not an age gap. I told my Mum was seeing a man 21 years older me when I was 21!! Wrong move.

Your an adult, get on with it. Good luck.

Are we doiing under age teenage angst again. !

Look if you are under age and he is not then that is illegal, get out know incase he is some sick peado.

If you are both legal then three years is not too much too worry about, dont forget that if you are honest with your parents then they shall help you when it all goes horribly wrong.

That;s a problem why? OK, I can understand if you're 13 and 16 but once you hit 16, it shouldn't really matter, should it? Just tell them and deal.

You say hey guess what I am going out with so n so. Then you let them ask the questions. If age comes up, then you tell them. You be honest. Earn their trust and they will always trust you.
