You are a sensitive person and you are suffering from anxiety. Talk to your Dr. about your feelings. There are meds that can help you. Don't feel bad about being kind and caring. That's a very good quality.

Compassion is wonderful when it's for someone in particular. A basic human exchange takes place that's good for both parties. But when it becomes generalized, an abstraction, it short circuits. It's possible to get seriously depressed thinking all the pain in the world - even just the unnecessary pain. People who are hurting need your emotional support. Right here on Yahoo Answers, every day there are questions from people who need the encouragement of knowing someone cares. Consider volunteer work or a career that engages those feelings. What you've got to offer is rare and very precious. Don't let it eat you up. Use it!!!!!

By the way, there are lots and lots of other people who have the same feelings. They're my heroes.

This problem will only get worse if you do not treat it soon. You need to talk to a psychologist. You are developing some kind of a disorder, and it can lead to depression. If you act on this problem quickly, you will be fine. I wouldn't take any medication, and I agree with the person who said to start finding ways to help the people you worry about. You could get involved in helping at the Jerry Louis telethon they have over Labor Day. They always need people to collect money and answer phones. Or get involved with habitat for humanity, or anything that will keep you active. That is the best cure for anxiety and depression... Staying active.

You have an incredible gift for compassion. Learn which symptoms are good and which are bad. The anxiety is something for which you should see a doctor or counselor.

There is definitely nothing wrong with feeling bad for people who are suffering. Get your own health in check, and then start reaching out to those in your community who are in need. Volunteer.

You'll do just fine!

You possibly have a very high IQ, and you're smart enough to realize that the state of the society's in which we live, are going to seal the destiny of the world. You are thinking on a higher level, and this is what is affecting you.
In other words, your emotions are set on hyper.
Fortunately, the same thing that has you in this situation, is the same thing that will get you out.
Recite the serenity prayer. GOOGLE it. It's really mind over matter. You are capable.

Many people have this concern for others.. is why there are people like Mother Teresa and others. Those who find a way to be of service to those less fortunate. I don't agree with this being a form of depression. It is compassion.. Perhaps trying to guide you into some service either directly or through some form of volunteer work.

Try the book Energy Medicine by Donna Eden. I am sure there is an exercise in that book called the Zip up that will help you with your over empathy.

Try it for yourself . maybe a google search for Donna Eden and Zip up will shed some light on the subject.

Hope that this helps.

you need to go to the doctors and get professional treatment, the panic attacks will only get worse, they are only brought on by you and your train of thought, and its not easy to stop yourself, the breathing can be helped by breathing into a paper bag and breathing it back in again a few times, or you can breathe in through your nose for a count of 4 and out again to a count of nine. rememeber panic attacks are in your mind, the feeling you have illnesses is normal, all the feelings of doom and gloom will set you off, ...you cant change the world ...but you can .....make your life better... for yourself... go to the doctor...i had panic attacks for a long time, and medication helped me till i got control again..
