Some people do it for spite, some because they don't understand about our feelings for God, Jesus told us to go out and to spread The Word, about God and His undying love for us, we are to not only spread The Word, but show true Christian love, and works to others. You can't win someone over to Christ, just by speaking of it, you have to show it. We must love others even as Christ did, and yes Christ loved everyone, although not everyone loved or loves Him. Just bear it up and ask God for strength and guidance.
Sorry I just read an answer and had to add this after thought, NO ONE is perfect, the only perfect person to have walked this earth was Jesus, and there is no one that perfect, that is why we have to continuously ask for forgiveness, but we do have to try to do OUR best, not Jesus's best, because we can't. I have met a few people that have come close, but even they admit that they are sinners.

You claim to love everyone when it's convenient, ("Why do people hate christians? We love everybody!") and yet you feel free to spread the hate whenever you think no one is looking, (from your profile: "I hate gays"). You remember what Jesus said about hypocrites in Matthew 6:5-6, don't you? If not, here's a reminder: "And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others." People don't hate you because you're a christian, they hate you because you're a hypocrite. As Jesus went on to say, (again in Matthew 6:5,) "truly, you have received your reward."

It is easy enough to say that you love me, regardless, however, do you really think you are capable of loving someone who tortured you and your family, then made you kill them? How realistic is your concept of love? I do not hate all Christians, I am simply upset that so few actually follow the basis of their religion.

If everyone was an actual "christian" and followed all commandments and all rules, then the world would be a better place, I agree, however, I have yet to meet someone who follows all these standards and rules to a point of perfection. No one is without jealously, no one is without hatred or anger. Show me that you are actually Christ-like, and I will accept you as being the perfect person.

God bless you!

People hate Christians for a few different or combined reasons. Undoubtedly, non-believers fear God's power as much as Satan does.
They all know that He is more powerful, but He is a power of good, not evil. Since He is not a power for evil, they are disappointed that they cannot win their pursuit in spreading their message to others.

Non-beleivers are jealous or envious of Christians since our love for God is a good, peaceful life. Many non-beleivers are think that portraying a devil's disciple is funny or "hip". I can't imagine!?!

Lastly, non-beleivers are too lazy to read the Bible with an open heart and open mind, because it would assuredly change their way of thinking. Changing their way of thinking would prove them wrong and embarass them terribly. There is nothing to be embarassed about. We would love them even more for cleansing themselves of the evil and useless efforts of Satan.

If they only knew how understanding we would be about then learning to love God. They could change their life for the good, they could study in private and come out as the greatest warriors for love and peace that Jesus could ever hope for!!!!

I don't hate Christians. I think the majority try to do good in the world but I think many of them are misguided. Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself. Many religions apart from Christianity have preached the Golden rule - do as you would be done by or even don't do to others what you wouldn't do to yourself. When that rule is practiced, no matter whether you are a Christian or not people can live in harmony.

I have been profoundly disappointed with Christians - which is not the same thing as hate. I have seen 'Christians' outside the Holy Sepulchre crypt in Jerusalem showing hate towards one another and that doesn't encourage me to align myself with them. I have read about the murderous centuries between Catholic and Protestant - 30 million Protestants murdered by Catholics in the 30 years war alone. I seen the hateful conduct by the IRA and the Loyalists in Northern Ireland and, as far as the IRA is concerned on the streets of London and all in the name of Christianity. I have read about the debouched Popes and the murderous inquisitions. I have thought about the genocide commited in the Americas by people who were axious to convert he antives befoe they were murdered.

I have been astounded by the holier than thou attitude displayed by Christian religious leaders. How can Christians support Pat Robertson who advocates murder? How do you reconcile the flashy cars, large houses, planes and high life enjoyed by so many leaders of Americas churches?

No I don't hate Christians, but I don't approve of many things they do. And I find it difficult to support a religion which openly advocates evil deeds while saying it is acting justly.

With an alternative between Christianity and my own moral code, my code would win hands down anyday. So while I don't hate you I also don't need you either.

I don't know if everyone "HATES" christians so much like you say. But a lot of Christians are misguided in their faith. They are too extreme and start preaching hate. Hate against minorities, gays, etc.
Many Christians simply do NOT understand the origin of their religion. They just believe what a sleazy, greasy haired televangilist tell them. I'm happy to see that you are not one of the extremists. But every religion has their own extremists. Like the muslims.

Spreading the Word of God and being pushy are not the same thing. If you are a salesman and you try the hard sell, your success rate will be very low. A great salesman once said, "You don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle while it cooks". Modify your approach and maybe you will be more acceptable.

One of the most common brainwashing techniques used in Christian churches is the claim that people "hate" (or persecute) Christians.

Christians stole that idea from the Jews from whom they stole their myths & legends.

Very people outside the Christian community care one way or another about what Christians believe or do unless they try to use the government to force their beliefs on others.

In which case, it is not hate, it is justifiable opposition to the spread of ignorance & superstition.

I am Christian, and I believe that some people dislike us because of the different variations of Christianity. Most importantly, when you're spreading the Gospel, or doing what you're supposed to be doing as a participant in the Body of Christ, God puts little attacks on you to test your faith. ; )
