You need a second litter box downstairs. This is a habit you want to break quickly. You may also need to change the dirt in the plant to get rid of the urine smell.

Bad for the plants and ultimately bad for you if your mom finds out.
Close the kitty up with her litter box for a few days until she learns to use it. Your bedroom might be a good place.
Might have to wash your comforter, but then that's easier than washing your mom's plants, right?

If the cat has claws, blow up a balloon and tuck it into the leaves or stems of the plants. The cat will be curious about it, and then, POP!!! We had a cat named Puud who used to violate houseplants and we tried this. He got the heck out of that plant in a hurry! I don't recall him ever bothering the plants again.

It's NOT funny for the plants...it will kill them. Cats like fresh soil. Is her litterbox being kept clean? They will go where any fresh, clean soil is, inside or out. Ultimately, put mothballs on the soil of the plant. It will repel the cat or any other animal or insect.

Repot the plant, so kitty doesn't smell it and think its ok to go there, then put cottonballs soaked in citrus oils or fresh peels to safely keep her out. OR put alum foil around the plant to deter her.

she is probably trying to tell you that she doesnt like your mom for some reason...maybe your mom isnt nice to your kitty... and i am assuming YOU are the one that feeds, waters, and cleans the kitty, correct? your kitty may think your mom is useless and by her peeing on your moms pants is trying to tell you to "throw them (along with the person they belong to) away"
