my cats is 13 and he is healthy how old do they usually live

I have been a cat lover for years. My Vet says that the average is 16 to 18 yrs. However I know someone with a cat 22 years old.
Regular check ups at the age is imperative and can be very reassuring.
Regulate the weight as their activity slows down alot about 14/15 yrs.
Water is essential for kidney functions.
My cat had a small spot on her paw and it grew larger. It was cancer.
She lost her toe but the cancer was too fast. I lost her 3 years ago
and still have her picture at my computer.
Enjoy the little guy and love him up.

The average life expectancy of a cat is 15-20 years although some cats have been reported to live into their 20s.

most cats live to be 13 to 15 some 18 to 19 and some may even live to 30 years of age

15 years old is about average..although some cats live longer. I had a cat that lived to be 19 years old.

It all depends on how they are cared for...he is either and inside kitty and hasnt gotten much abuse from nature or is a VERY WELL taken care of outside kitty...outside cats usually live to about 5 or 6 AT THE MOST and inside cats have been able to live like 20 or more years in their greatest care...

Most cats are good for about 15 years but it is not too, too unusual for some to live to 20. Beyond 20, call the newspapers. Your cat will be famous.

I have had cats and so has my mother that have lived as long as 21 years. My current cat is 14 and we recently lost a cat of 19 years. take good care of you r cat and be sure to take them to the vet regularly.
