Why do you think there is more that just eating, sleeping, reproducing and hunting?

To me, because of evolution, our only purpose is to reproduce. We are a virus, with shoes.

good question - well i would like to think that as we are animals too but with the privilege of having a 'conscious-awareness' we would all strive to use this conscience to do our best during our lifetime......
we can make choices to either be bad/negative/destructive OR good/positive/constructive, to live a good life helping all other sentient beings.
(p.s. i am an atheist so NO religion hidden in my answer)
BUT unfortunately we have "intelligence" which (in most cases) has gone beyond its practical usefulness for the good of us and other animals and the planet.
WELL I suppose MOST humans have no purpose........

That's the problem, we don't have a purpose. All we do is reproduce and answer questions on this website.

It is the Sovereign Pleasure of GOD that we exist and experience this life and world. If you didn't have a purpose, God wouldn't have bothered to include you in his plan. You don't like God? Well, one day his pleasure might were thin, and you can go to hell and wonder about your purpose there.

we would have no purpose, other to just survive and re produce, kind of like a fly, but a much longer life.... maybe to keep a sort of of a balance? its a question ( without religion involvement) that we will probably never know..

Think you have just spotted it. We are animals too. Nothing more.

We have no higher purpose. Unfortunately the religeous groups convince gullible people otherwise.

"As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light [of meaning] in the darkness of mere being." - Carl Jung

To both grow as individual persons and to express or create meaning.

We were originally created by an alien-race as a soup-starter. But they eventually decided we had too many bones, and lost interest in us.

i ask myself the same question
but if you don't want religion in it
you will have to believe that were we formed because of the big bang and formed from monkeys i find it hard to believe but that's one of the things people say if they are not religious
