I have maybe 3 negative items on my credit report, and I am thinking of hiring a law firm to remove them. I've searched and found a couple that do a monthly service, but I wonder if they remove them temporarily or permanently. anybody with experience in this arena?

If the items are reporting inaccurately, you can dispute them.

If they cannot correct them, by law, they must remove them.

You can save money by doing it yourself. Check out the link I've provided and do some reading in the newbie forum and then in the credit forum.

It is a free site, never pay for info that you can get for free.

A law firm wouldn't be able to remove anything. All they will do is dispute the items with the credit bureaus. You can also do this yourself, and obviously would be free that way. I'd say yourself some trouble, and try to dispute on your own. If you're denied, and you usually will find out in just a few weeks, then maybe get a lawyer on your side.

The only thing that can be removed are proven errors in your credit report, not just a negative, but accurate, entry. And for that you don't need a law firm.

They cannot "Remove" anything. What they will tell you is that they can and all they do is inquiries into the "bad" credit to see if the creditor can "prove" you owe the bill. This is something you can do for yourself for free.
