I'm sick of this Creationism-Evolutionism fight...
Creation would explain the Reason
Evolution would explain How
But I deeply think that Creationism is only a way to make us slave under "God" law.
Science is heretic....and condamned by Church...
I think all "Miracle" or anything "magik" related, is just non-understood science. Science is power.....and they want us to be dumb....sorry I really think that....But look at those links and you may understand why I became to think like that....I was Baptised Roman Catholic .....

Evolving doesn't always mean progressing to more and more "power" or complexity. Sometimes the appropriate direction is to simplify in a given niche.
So we may stay roughly the same for the next 40,000 years (that's about how long we've been homo spaiens sapiens). Then we may decrease in brain size as we've already done at least once, or increase in brain size. Or we may take over evolution with genetic modification and make ourselves gods, sure.
It's hard to observe speciation in 5-6,000 years since that is really not much time. Like I said humans have been roughly the same for 40,000 years. So we'd have to point to some animal with a very short lifespan that would have many generations in a short time. And it's never enough to point out to a creationist that the 6 winged ant-sucker became a 5 winged ant-sucker. So you leave us kind of stuck.
Here's a link with some evidence:

There is proof of evolution--fossils, natural resources, animals trapped in amber. All these things are compared to species and animals that thrive on earth today and the change over time among them is evident. Where is YOUR proof of Noah's Ark or anything for that matter from the Bible.
By the way, what does evolving have to do with becoming gods??You just made yourself look like a complete jackass. Congrats!

There certainly is proof of evolution in our time, even though our time is short in evolutionary terms. Mostly it is the extinction of species. The development of antibiotic resistant microbes is pretty good proof of evolution and its principles.
Since the dinosaurs lasted a lot longer than we have existed, and they didn't even develop intelligence, I don't know what scientific basis you have for saying man will evolve into gods. Our technology may make us appear as gods, or magicians, to less evolved intelligences, if there are any.

We will not evolve into gods because we will destroy ourselves before we get the chance. However, human beings use only a small percentage of their brains, like 10% or something (George Bush uses about 00000.003%). But it is said that if we could figure out how to use all of it, we would be as gods. Has anyone done it? Not the Dubya, THAT'S for sure!!!!

We won't evolve into gods because a god is a metaphorical euphamism for perfection. We will do as creatures have done all through time.. we will evolve to suit the surroundings and environment. And, Mr. Hiandmighty, do you not believe cavemen ever existen? Because there is proof that the modern homo sapien (that is you, unless you accept you are a primate) evolved from the neanderthal.

Yes, there is evidence of humans evolving over time. Do you ever read the paper? Lucy is the name of a half-human, half- humanoid ape skeleton paleontologists found recently. She is evidence of the path humans took as we evolved from apes to humans. We are still evolving, as is everything else, but it is a very slow process. Many other skeletons have been found with different bone structure. Do these really not show evolution?

There is documented proof of Evolution, in ancient relegions. Hindu Mythology refers to monkey type creatures which were half monkey and half human. Some of them are revered as Gods in these cultures. They provide the best evidence of an intermediate species which got extinct due to "Evolution", but which at one time co-existed with humans.

Your "question" is not really a question ... regardless of the convincing arguments you may receive, you will not even consider them ... for you have decided you are right and others are wrong.
Yes, the process of evolution is still evident today ... and will continue.
But social evolution is more dominant in our society at the present time. While you adhere to religion, your children or grandchild will likely question blind faith ... your line will eventually become atheists. In this, I find solace, knowing your spiteful manner of religious dogma will eventually run its course ...
Tell me, how does it feel to be a social dinosaur on the cliff of extinction?

All right. Let's start with a definition of "atheist." It means "without a god." This means that a person who is an atheist does not believe that there are such things as god, or that gods are mythological, fictional beings.. It is highly unlikely that such a person would be inclined to believe that humans would evolve into a work of fiction.

You asked this question to athiests?
"..., which means eventually we will become gods."
If they don't believe in god, why would they think they're going to evolve into gods?
Of course we're evolving...if not, why did god give you an appendix? Just for kicks and giggles? There's evidence all around you, you just choose not to research it, or choose to ignore it.
Whatever. Believe what you want. But I'd really hate to see a post from you bitching about people that mock your beliefs. =)
