Because, God is perfect(What do you mean by perfect??) he cannot
accept any imperfectness(Here it clearly means possesion of SIN--now define sin). That's why a person is required to become a Christian
and believing that Jesus paid for his sins--he becomes sinless or perfect. So, by perfect--you mean sinless or something more?
There is no question of God being a sinner or sinless--because
that requirement is for humanbeings only. So, the perfection of God
means something more. So, it implies that you need to be something more(not only sinless) to avoid hell and be with a PERFECT GOD.
I don't see any other alternative other than all people being elevated to GODHOOD. Does it make any sense????
The other alternative is that--although God is perfect--he doesn't require us to be so--he differenciates between sins and just forgive us from sins when we repent(not by the Atonement).

Christian GOD is a fiction. So is the god taught by every other religion. You can give it any attribute you like. It would be more universally acceptable if we can create the idea of godliness which does not belong to any religion. So everybody on the earth can talk of the same god irrespective of the religion they follow or don't follow. If god exists, do you really think that christian god is different than the muslim god and different from hindu god.Or you think that the god of your religion is the only god, and other's god is false god?

Wow! Ok, here goes.
Perfect: without sin, incapable of sin, sinning, being in the presence of sin; knowing all things, the ability to do all righteous things with exactness, correctly the first time; without error, or fault; incapable of error, fault or being in the presence of error or fault.
Sin: opposite of perfect; words and deeds opposed to God's Plan of Happiness.
Even after becoming a Christian, we all sin, repeatedly. Yes, there is a time where we have been washed clean, but the amount of time varies. To return to Heavenly Father does require something more than just avoiding Hell. But you are implying that we think we are sinless once we become a Christian. This is not true. We sin just like everyone else. I and many like me try to repent of our sins (stop the sin, pay restitution if possible, ask for forgiveness with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, promise to never do it again) as frequently as possible, but we will never be perfect. We can however, be perfect in a thing. Perhaps that thing is Hope, or Faith, or in one area of life or another. We can also strive to be perfect, always working toward the goal of perfection. A goal we know we will never obtain through our own actions alone. We MUST rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He has already paid the price, and when we don't accept that gift it's like we are saying, Thanks, but no thanks, I can do it on my own. As to all people being elevated to godhood, that is a Mormon concept which I won't get into right now as it requires a long explaination.

First off a person is not required to become a Christian, you have freedom of choice where you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
2ndly Jesus did not become sinless or perfect he was born perfect and it was not in his nature to sin. Remember Jesus was tempted for 40 day and nights by satan, and Jesus in that time did not sin. You were born a sinner and will die a sinner, even if you are a Christian. No one on this earth can ever be perfect or sin free. People are not elevated to Godhood there is only on God and no one can be elevated to that status only God.
God requires us to walk in his image and he knows we will be tempted by the flesh and yes God will forgive us our sins if we repent, but remember one thing God does not just forgive sins, if you are not truly repentant of your sin or sins he will not forgive you.

For Christians, "good" and "bad" are like formal royal titles. They're supposed to mean something, but if you get to technical about it, they really don't. For instance, their God tells them not to kill, and if they kill, they sin. Yet, their God does lots of his own killing, both out of spite and out of anger, and really just whenever he feels like it. In the New Testament, people are told that they have to be forgiving and non-vengeful and all.

So, good and bad are labels, more or less adopted from some of the older religions, like Zoroastrianism, with a mix of some weird Hellenistic philosophy (e.g. 1st century Jews more or less worshipped a personified version of the concept of wisdom, named Sophia).

The sacrifices to remove sin come from the ancient belief that bad things happen because you deserve them, mixed with "we need to satisfy the gods so our crops will grow" mentality.

That later grew into the Christian framework, where God gets all the phenomenal cosmic powers, and humans just get a formal title of "perfect," though they don't get to do any of the magical party tricks.

"Perfection" really has no rigorous meaning, which is why it's hilarious to hear theologians throwing it around and trying to prove things by it.

"Sin" is whatever went against societal norms back in the day, and it was basically assumed whenever something bad happened to you. Plus, you were sinning if you did something one of the priests didn't like.

I don't think any human is capable of understanding what true perfection which leaves some gray areas in it's definition. God is unlimited, unsurpassable and unequaled; the greatest entity in the universe. Since we chose imperfection with the first man's mistake, He has lowered the bar for us out of divine love so that we may choose to be in His company after death.

We are counted AS perfect, who are in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Let me save you time and carpel tunnel from typing.

They're not going to accept any logic whether it makes sense or not.

They don't even consider logic or sense when it comes to this issue, they happily accept the interpretation they have now on faith. You cannot change someones mind with logic when they make decisions based on faith. These people are likened to sheep, a dumb animal that will follow the one in front of them over a cliff, and happily accept that comparison!!! How can you objectively discuss anything with a person with that kind of mindset?

No, we don't have to be perfect, or none of us would get to heaven. That's why Jesus died for us - to take the punishment for our sins. When we accept the gift of salvation, God no longer sees us as sinners - He sees through His Son, as white as snow. Praise God!

To blaspheme the holy Spirit...is a sin that will never be forgiven.. If a miracle that is done in truth for the good of others as a sign for that persons word of the most high God..

sins that we are judged on earth are:

If we go against truth for evil

If we do and cause evil to others and things

If we are unrighteous in our dealing with others

Mt 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven:

and what soever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven:

and what soever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. ..

So who and what so ever you put in bondage on earth you will and have in heaven

and what so ever evil you lose on earth you will and have done in heaven

This is spiritual karma....eternal

The above laws are the only things of God that we can understand on earth and practice to be like Him

God is Spirit and the above laws are spirit the Kingdom and the forth coming government of the most high living God of Israel and His word made flesh Jesus Christ the Lord

And anyone in any religion, or no religion, and regardless of sexual orientation... all are invited to the marrige supper ofthe lamb

Definitions:

Evil....unrighteous loss of any ones spiritual, emotional, physical or assets. For my gain, self satisfaction, for groups or others.

Things: trees, animals, ruin the earth etc.
to my gain

christians definitely are not preaching sinless perfection. if righteousness could be achieved through our works than christ died for nothing. we cannot appear before God unless we are as holy as God is or as perfect as God is. we stand before God the Father and we have to cast from his presence because he is holy and we are not. however, in the blood of God the Son covers us then we can be in his presence because it no longer is our filthy works that is our merit, it is his Son's perfect and holy blood. it sounds like you are border line mormon

If you aim to be perfect you will fail miserably.

People are inherently weak and imperfect. To say that you are is tantamount to saying that you are yourself in fact "God". That's not going to happen. That is heresy in the christian world.

For every sin you have commited you have added to the burden of christ's cross and the pain of his wounds. We are living in a world controlled bu guilt - christian guilt. This was never what Jesus tried to impart to us. There is only one law. and that is love.

to answer your question. yes.

The only way for us to reach perfection is to embrace our God-self and no be afraid of it. We are God's Children, and in being so so, makes us him. clear?
