They need to be separated - the more aggresive one will kill the other.

More often than not two birds of the same sex don't get along well in a cage. I would guess that your birds are both males. Even though you have seperate feeding dishes, often the dominant (alpha) bird will monopolize the food dishes. I suggest that you buy an extra cage.
If your birds are under 6 months (before their first molt), it is nearly impossible to determine their sex unless you have had years of experience with both sexes, and even then they can fool you! If your birds are what they call "Normal Gray" , the male has a bright yellow face and bright , round, orange patches over their ears . Also you can determine their sex by their behavior. A male cockatiel appx. 6+ months will sing, hop, strut, etc. The females are generally quiet, more likely to be "skittish" (around humans), and "squeak" more than they tweet. An excellent sight to help you learn to visually sex your tiels is www.cockatiel.com. Good Luck!

If they are not fighting and hurting each other, is it necessary that they like each other? I run into folks every once in awhile that I don't like.
I just eat out of my own food bowl and let them do the same. :-)
Who cares what sex they are since they obviously aren't planning to start a family together?

but how to check their gender is easy. put both of them at the mirror if one of them start singing to its self then its a boy. if the other gets afraid of the mirror are doesn't care about its reflection then its a girl.
if they are both boys then that's maybe the reason for not liking each other.
