we have been emailing back and forth for a 3 or so weeks talking art and philosphy and have seen eacher other 3 times at various art receptions...

here is what i mailed her last time........

blah blah blah regarding the art opening i attended and saw her at.

I hated the fact I had to run before our conversation got artistic.
I was therefore wondering if you would like to go out for some
coffee or a drink sometime next week.
Let me know what your schedule is looking like and I'll pencil you in. ; )

she then mailed this back to me..

They keep us
busy night and day around here. I'm not complaining, this is a great
experience, but, for example, they have parties and events planned for
us every single night from tonight until next saturday.

Why don't you come to the art opening this Thursday evening, and we can talk there? (Plus, that alcohol is free and bountiful).

is this a polite no thanks or what... should i go or make her meet me if she wants 2 Cme

no, that means thats she is busy but still wants to see you... show up later on, stick around tell the end, dont get too drunk and wait until she is off of work then ask her if she would like to grab a late dinner or some coffee to talk more...

First of all saying,"I'll pencil you in" makes you sound arrogant and is not a very good line. Be more classy and just say let me know if that's o.k. with you or something like that.

You should go to the art opening with her on Thursday. She's semi interested. If she wanted to blow you off she wouldnt' have said to come thursday, It's a luke warm response but it's a response. Just be yourself on Thursday, dont' come on too strong and see what happens. If she isnt' interested, you still have a friend.

When a woman talks about how busy she is, it can mean that she does not want to be with you. However, she's making an offer for you to meet her, so she's honest about being busy. When they like you, they will make time for you because no one is so busy that they can't make time for a date at some point. You should go! Good luck, and stay sober!

She is using the work related event as a comfort zone to feel you out. Go.
If after a while she starts shunning you for others at the party, just leave.
