I'm single again too, and I've decided that I will be responsible for my own happiness and not depend on someone else to make me happy. I'd much rather be alone than to be with someone who isn't right for me. It's fine to be picky and have high expections, don't ever settle for less than you deserve.

You probably are. Some people have a big list that they expect the other person to live up to. What happens when that person finds someone that meets all of her expectations and is happy but the guy she found dumps her because she didn't meet all of the expectations on HIS list.
If both people are putting their all into the other person and thinking of the others needs first, then both persons needs get met. It it's all about what you need and what you want you'll never be happy. Remember, you have things the other person doesn't like either.

nothing wrong with expectations...*but* u have to look at urself first, before u judge anyone else. are u a good girlfriend? are u supportive, caring, sympathetic, open minded, and positive? if u have confidence that you are a really good catch, then by all means KEEP IT UP. Do not lower your standards... just make sure u set boundaries in what u want in a guy, and communicate that w/ ur guy. if he doesn't understand or doesn't want to work on the relationship, that's when u know u need to move on. having expectations is not a bad thing, but u also have to have expectations from yourself. if u are lacking, work on urself first before blaming someone else for their mistakes.
i had similar problems..i thought it was me! that i was cursed, no one will love me who i can really be happy with..and after 3 exes i've finally found someone who really Appreciates, Loves, and Communicates with me.. it's everything i've ever wanted, and we work hard on it everyday, because it's Worth it. i think he's awesome, he thinks i'm awesome. so it's worth it for me to try hard to keep it working, and same for him, so when i have problems or i feel he's done something "wrong", i feel truly lucky cuz he listens to me, and validates my opinions.. even if i'm wrong, or he's wrong, that's not the point; the point is that we work on it together.
ther'es NOTHING wrong with expecting the best for yourself...u have to in order to truly get the best, and be the best.
