I did the opposite to you, right knee, knee cap facing the left when I was playing football and turned on it. Have you been put in plaster?, I was in Plaster for 6 weeks. Then I attended physio for 3 months to build strength up. I have not carried on with my excercises as its strong enough for everyday activities as I do not participate in sport as much any more. If you work hard to keep rebuilding everything you should be fine, ask you doctor for advice. I did this 14 months ago. Hope this helps. by the way, How old are you ?

Sweet man! you suffered a full luxation of the patella!! I did that a while ago yes and it went to the right too and stayed there intill i moved it back with my own hands. very painfull! I'm a jui jitsu man, but i also do judo, karate and Ninjitsu. Most kung fu has a heavy emphasis on balance, and weight transfer, and jumping from one leg to the other can be dangerous on a freshly injured knee. I would still do the classes, but go to the back of the matts out of everyones way. do my hand exercises, try do do some kicking. throws and sparring i would keep away from if i could. its important to give your knees the opportunity to heal. then start working them out lightly. light exercise and stretching. if there is alot of swelling and you cant pull your leg back past a right angle then i would stay off it as much as i could. the key is being smart about an injury. and when you do work out that knee make sure you work the other out just as much. cause then you can transfer the same problems to your other knee. so be care full man!!

I would still have an orthopedic doctor check it out, to make sure that you didn't tear a ligament or cartilage. When you have a dislocation, whether it is a knee or a finger, it usually takes 4-6 weeks for it to fully heal. Ask the doctor how much working out you can do, stretching, etc. , if you need a support or a wrap, and if you need an anti-inflammatory. Don't re-injure by trying to do too much too soon. good luck.

ouch that sound very pain full, I've hurt my knee doing martial arts before but not that bad and it took me little while to get back to normal so it might be a while longer for you.
good luck

seen this often they did the right thing putting it back so quickly you should have no problems doing anything this is a common injury
the problems you get are when it is not put back quickly then you could be on crutches for weeks
