You shouldn't freak out... but the child is a part of her and would be a part of any serious relationship. Her priority will be her child because men may come and go, but she will always be a mom to the child. You have to ask yourself if you can handle being with the kid… can you be responsible and lookout for the child’s best interest. If not, then don’t get into a situation that would end up bad for everyone involved.

The right guy will love you and accept your child. Can't be just one.

Don't introduce your child for a long time. really get to know the person first. Once you introduce the child it gets complicated. If it doesn't work the child will have a hard time understanding. So go slow there. If you are getting serious GET EVERYTHING OUT IN THE OPEN !!!!!!!! Like more kids? his role with the child, discipline, money, goals ect. So many people fall in love and when the love starts to fade one or both realize that they don't agree on many issues and it falls apart from there. Bring up the tough issues-it's not easy but better to find out now(again only if things get serious) then later with another child or two. trust me here.

Best Wishes,

Brother Duane

That's the difference between "dating" and old fashioned "courting." For most people, dating is just for fun. You probably won't find someone willing to play "dad" in that scene. If you're looking for a guy when you have a kid, it's time to play for keeps. Family-oriented guys don't really hang out in the dating scene.

I've dated a couple guys with kids and it never bothered me. I know I'm a big enough person to handle that and if I couldn't I would just say so. I would think that if you really liked the guy, and he was a good guy, then you would be willing to put forth the effort to try and make it work. Good guys are hard to find.

would not freak me out. Most (not all) but most women that have children have gained a lot of responsibility. Also I love kids, I have a son of my own. I would also try to help her out as much as she feels she needs. It is a lot of work being a parent, and stress can build up. so it is good to have a helping hand once in a while.

Ive dated plenty of guys with kids and I still liked them. I was crazy about the kids too. There are plenty of guys out there who date single moms. If he is truly into then he will stick around.

I've never gotten involved with a single mom.
It's just something I set for myself when I was younger and stayed with it.
