My parent's taught us well. We called my mom "short boss". She was strict but loving. Yes, we got spanked. Yes, we got grounded. Yes, we got yelled at. We weren't spoiled and learned how to treat other people. Not to smart mouth adults, etc.
As an adult, I think some of the stuff I got in trouble for was completely ridiculous (hair, nail polish, leaving the bathroon cabinet door ajar). You have to pick your battles as a parent. You are there to guide your kids, not be their BBF. That's what my parents did. Now we are good friends, not just parent/child.

My parents were not always the most conventional parents, but they must have done something right, I have never been arrested, never been in serious trouble. Matter of fact, I think I've led a pretty sheltered life.

Yes, I think they were great. Very good at it actually. There was only 2 of us.

yes. the learning i have had is seeing what can happen when your parents don't care. i have made mistakes, and i am no angel. it amazes me that people with bad parents have not messed up way more than me.

iv had a very tragic life. and for the most part. i raised myself. as much as i want change that misfortune, i think it would change who i am.so in a way im glad
