My brother says that Marines are more angry than army people?

Two very different organizations. Just because they are both solders, does not make them the same. Marines are fighters, born and bread. Every Marine must take a shooting test to get a promotion. The rifle is the very core, of the corp. The army has a much wider range of professionals. They have solderers that last fired a round in basic, and have served their 20. Take time to study both, it is a great investment of time to find out which one will challenge you, and fit your needs.

First of all, I can't believe that people that have no idea about the Military are giving you advice. Second of all, as someone who spent 20 years in the Navy, (some on a Minesweeper and some supporting Special Forces) I agree with the people who have told you to check carefully and do your own research. I have worked with Marines and have found them to be some of the most "squared away" people in any of the Services. Marines are NOT soldiers, they are Marines.
The Army is the least Elite of the Armed Services, but they do have some very Elite units that rival any Marine. Delta Force, Green Berets, Rangers and all top notch. In my opinion the best Service to Enlist in is the Air Force, because it is the hardest to get into and is mostly technical so you can get good experience for when you get out. Only you know what you really want so go where you are going to be the happiest.

NOT more angry... ...more PASSIONATE! About everything, but just like any other stereotype, they are wrong most of the time but right enough to stay alive.

Here is my experience:
Army: Total ambivalence to actions. Do the orders, no biggie, it's a job.
Navy: Ignore the actions and plan for the next party.
Air-Farce: Take the actions seriously, but louse them up anyway.
Marines: Be motivated to do the actions and own it like a score in sports. No good reason and you'll get insubordination.

Army: Great equipment lousy food.
Navy: Good equipment Great food.
Air-Farce: Superior equipment and great food.
Marines: Army surplus equipment and inedible food.

I love the Marines. Pick the branch you fit in and you'll be happy with it, but know that all places hire from the general population. To like military life, you better already like regular life.

Both are fine. There is an interservice rivalry that has gone on forever and will forever. The Marines are more of a front-line fighting type of force, and the Army has more of a diversity to it's make up. The real question is if you want to be a soldier or not. Ryan

The Marines are trained for more dangerous landings and general operations than the Army. Either one you choose is great, because both are heroes that children, and all of us, look up to.

Army people are just jealous...any third world country can have an army, but Marines are a select few worldwide, even moreso here in the US.

Sure...Go ahead and lower your IQ and join the marines.

What does Marine stand for? My A$$ Rides In Navy Equipment.

Why do navy ships have marines on them? The sheep would be to obvious.

Why do marines love to kill things? Because they're angry they're stupid. They remember what it was like to be smart.

Here's some of the things that I've observed from marines:

On grenade training: "Pull pin, go boom."

On using the microwave to pop popcorn: "How'd you get yours to turn out?" My response: " I used the button marked Popcorn."
(It was a preprogrammed microwave. Every button was labeled.)
The marine that asked me that question was an E-7.

"How come it won't accept my dollar?"
"It wouldn't accept my change either."
Conversation overheard between a table of marines. The machine in question, was a coke machine that was taped up and had a sign in 12 inch letters saying it was Out Of Order.

I was on an amphib for 5 years. For those of you who don't know what an amphib is, we're the ones who get the marines where they need to go. 5 years working around marines. Yeah...They're idiots.

I would have to say that it depends on what you want out of the service....The marines are bad asses and they fight in the front-line, and you are taught combat, combat, and more combat...If you are in the service for an education, then the Army would probably be better I think...
